Clutch Pedal Plug Help
I went out last night and when I arrived at my destination the blue plastic plug thing that goes on the upper part of the clutch pedal, similar to the brake pedal found in THIS thread
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/brake-lights-stay-how-i-fixed-them-2254546/
broke in to pieces as it commonly does. I had this happen on my brake pedal about six months ago and based on the information found in that thread I wisely purchased two of them at that time knowing that this would happen in the near future with the clutch.
So this is where my confusion comes in. I got down on the floorboard and replaced the plug thinking that would solve my problem but the car still wouldn't start. I had to have someone push me for a jump start to make my way home last night. Today I crawl down on the floorboard with a mirror and flashlight and notice that the relay for the clutch pedal is nothing like the brake pedal. There is no switch it pushes back in towards the car like it does to turn the brake lights off. It's literally a metal bolt against a plastic plug. So what is the purpose of the plug at all? Also, why won't my car start now that the plug is back in place?
I disconnected the negative terminal from the battery and left it off for a few minutes thinking it would reset something and the car would start but no luck. When I put the keys in the ignition everything lights up like normal. The fuel pump can be heard priming. But when I turn the key not a thing occurs. Dead silence.
What part of the process am I missing here? Please help. Thank you.

Re: Clutch Pedal Plug Help
Forgive my ignorance, but are you suggesting that I now have to readjust my clutch entirely simply because the plug broke?

Re: Clutch Pedal Plug Help
LOL. Talk about facepalm. Thanks for the pic jlicrx.
It's done now. I didnt realize it was so high up on the pedal.
So is there supposed to be another one of those plastic plugs in the hole I mistakenly had it in originally? I'm trying to figure out why that hole is there.
