Dash lights dim at high rpms. alt or???
Its an obd0 d series re manufactured duralast alternator, came ob my var when i bought it almost four years ago, had been on the car about a year. Stock alternator wiring to the fuse box, the four gauge to the starter, then 2 gauge to the battery in my trunk. Lights only dim above 6000 rpms or below 1200. Using my dmm im getting 14.3 volts at idle to my battery
Does this sound like my alternator is getting tired? Or a wiring issue? Battery light works but doesnt come on.
Thanks in advance!

bump any ideas?
I should ad i have an 8 gauge ground strap on my trans, and a ground cable running from my valve cover bolt to my shock tower. for the battery i have a massive braided battery strap running to the shock tower bolt, and all grounding points on the chassis were sanded to bare metal before installing

I would run a gound wire from batt up to engine bay 8 gauge then run 10 guage to trans thats how i would do it doesnt hurt. But to check and see if its a ground issue are ur rears lights dimming 2 ?

yeah the battery ground wire would also be my guess since it runs the longest distance, relocate maybe

i can try that but the whole chassis is a ground and i have good grounds, i'll try adding one from the alternator to the chassis as well. i've always heard you want the shortest grounds you can possibly have...

Re: Dash lights dim at high rpms. alt or???
Hey don't mean to thread jack but google brought me here. I've got a 92 civic cx box stock. My alt crapped out and my friend gave me an h22 alt off of his lude. I made a bracket and got it all mounted. Worked great now I'm not sure. Having a similar issue with my car. My batt is in the back pending more work done at a later date both my hot and ground are about 9/16 and only my dash lights start to dim and flicker at higher rpm. At an idle everything dims a bit which isn't a concern really...can anyone shed some light for me?
