97 non-VTEC, no Spark, no idea
Hey guys,
I'm out of ideas, here. I'm trying to fix my friend's 97, which isn't getting spark to the wires. It turns over fine. I've tested the coil, replaced the ICM, checked the cap, replaced the rotor. The distributor's fine.
It has to be wiring, right? I checked the coil and "ECM" fuses. (Is "ECM" another term for "ICM?")
Is there something I'm missing, or am I just not checking these things thoroughly enough?
Thanks!
-Andy

Ok first need more info. What make and model are we talking about here? What motor? OBD2 or OBD1 conversion? Did it run before and just start acting up or was a swap just done? Do you have any CEL codes? Just going on what you are telling us I would check the dizzy and make sure it is getting power and ground and ECU signal.

It's a stock, automatic 1.6 non-VTEC. I'm not sure what the designation is. It should be OBD2, though I haven't pulled any codes yet (should have done that first). It was running fine, and he started to see some shuddering, then after a couple of days, it died and refused to start.
I haven't checked the cam position sensor yet. It throws a code, right?
