Muckman’s Integra High Compression Super Build

Re: Muckman’s Integra High Compression Super Build
Crank pulley's dont just fly off. Clearly thats install error. As Runnerdown said these dampers are interference fit and most kids just bang them on instead of using the proper install tools. These arent your average underdrive pulleys you find on ebay. Enough about the crank pulleys.

Re: Muckman’s Integra High Compression Super Build
Yesterday I recieved the new distributor as promised from MSD and got that installed.
Today was a frustrating and satisfying day on the dyno. We started out making fantastic power on low boost. On the 5psi wastegate spring we made a killer 340whp observed! Thats a high hp/low boost record for the dyno lol. And keep in mind this is only a GT3076, not a huge turbo. We moved up to 9psi and made 385whp observed.
Then we moved up to 10psi and my awesome MSD Pro-**** COIL just decided to die. The engine refused to start. We ended up swapping it out for another MSD coil that my tuner had but it didnt have enough juice and kept breaking up at 10psi. We tried another GM coil and same thing so we called it a day.
Here is the final base pressure pull - 340whp. Its hilarious how long the torque plateau is held. And look at the torque under the curve, there's 150ftlbs available at 2000rpm. If I didnt know any better Id swear this was a N/A dyno graph.
Here is the 9psi pull - 385whp.
Keep in mind these are OBSERVED numbers, not corrected, on a Land and Sea Dyno-mite.
There was a 388whp pull right after this at the same boost when we pulled 1* of timing. Think about that for a second. We were beyond MBT timing on a motor with 13.5:1 static compression plus 9psi of boost. And there were no signs of detonation! Thank you E85!
Im not done yet. I've ordered a replacement MSD coil and Ill be back for more boost.

Re: Muckman’s Integra High Compression Super Build
now here's the real question.. whats making the power?
cylinder head, cams, compression, or e85... or a little bit of everything lol

Wow 385whp at only 9psi nice. Really clean power and torque curves as well. I bet it is really fun to drive. Do you have a boost graph?? Up the boost to 15psi and see what you get.

Re: Muckman’s Integra High Compression Super Build
No boost graph on the dyno. Only from my logs.
The 340hp run is technically 5.5psi. Target boost reached at 4100rpm. And held to redline at 9000rpm.
The 388hp run is technically 8.8psi peak. Peak boost at 6100rpm. And held to redline with no boost taper.
~4100rpm is exactly where I made the same wg psi last year on the 9:1 engine with stock GSR head and ITR cams.
Same exact turbo setup. Compression does NOT help spool!

ah, that sounds better lol, still a little slow from what i would expect.
8psi at 5100, i would expect quicker spool from a 3076

Yeah I think my manifold is mostly to blame for that. Its always been laggier than other GT3076's. Plus I was only using static duty cycle on the ebc, no quick spool today.
mtber - heat problems from the manifold being 6" away from the distributor prevent me from running the stock distributor. I once fried two OEM coils within 30 mins on the highway. I need to get the coil away from the heat.

ah, that would explain it... play with that ebc map lol.
normally the longer runner manifolds do spool a bit slower, but make up for that with flow.

Re: Muckman’s Integra High Compression Super Build
You don't need COP just ditch the msd junk. My ignition setup has been extremely reliable. It consists of summit cdi box, crane ps92 coil, msd cap/rotor, senditracing ignitor delete box
Sick powerband for such little boost. Imagine with the higher compression it's more efficient and will max the turo out at a lower boost level hence the wicked power currently on not much boost. The turbine will only flow so much. I really love that torque plateau. Monster with a little more boost for sure

Well if you had last years setup, all else the same except just now much higher compression I could see. But with major changes in cylinder head and camshafts I don't understand this absolute conclusion.
