td05hr 16g with the 10.5 turbine housing, mac will agree with me here... for a street car this turbo is a blast and b18c's seem to love them. quick spool and gobs of torque. a few fabricators on here make manifolds to simply bolt the evo turbo up...

not to mention you can get nice examples off of ebay for 175 or more. and for 300 you really dont need to build the bottom end as long as you have a good tuner...


and you wont do any of this on a budget of only 1000.... building the motor will cost at least that much if not more

300HP is a pretty decent amount of power for a fully built engine, for about $1000 you can get a pretty high quality medium sized turbocharger by Garrett or Turbonetics. I suggest a ball bearing turbocharger for a quick spool up, assuming you're going to street this car. A Garrett GT25R or the 28R series will get you to the 300hp mark.

It is also very important to setup a proper supporting system. You need enough fuel to the engine, a proper ignition and timing system, most importantly a proper tune. If you're on a budget a lot vendors offer e-Tunes at a pretty reasonable price.
