do a k20 reliable power..yea yea b20 vtec or ls vtec..which ive owned both and idc what anyone says there not going to be as reliable as a slightly modded oem k20..all internals stay the same..no sandwich kits..no piecing a motor together..

again u guys keep talkin boost..lets stick with motor for motor..k20 bigger displacement higher reving...and the cfm's it flows..lol..trumps the b16/b18..

dont get me wrong honda builds/engineers great engines..i still think the b16/b18c's..are still ahead of its time..light free reving..pretty low maintenece.ther than burning oil..lol

and if anyone is local tojersey i have a base k20 out of a 06 rsx..complete block for $300 with papers..also an rbc and a couple k20 harneses for cheap..let me kno..

Yeah no boost for me. My boost days were over when i switched from nissan 240's to honda's. I believe hands down when it comes to a reliable 250 n/a build k20 is the way to go.

you can pick up a k24a2 longblock and k20a2/z1 tranny for cheaper than a full k20a2/z1 swap and make gobs more power and torque

for the b18c i just spent 5000 total on a new motor, transmission, ecu, godspeed turbo kit, install and tune. and installed that into me 93 integra and im pushing 300+ whp

the awnser is in the post..if you where to switch out the godspeed..and sub'd a fullrace greddy..precision turbo kit ect..that price woulda changed..

and like someone said above..you could find a k24 accord motor cheap..like 500 at most..trust me ive done a few..and i belive the most expensive part of the build was all the gas you will end up consuming driving around

I put over 6k in my used parts and K20z3 swap..... Make a list and dont splurge on stuff u dont need like bling bling stuff. My k20 swap was better than any B motor i ever driven...All in all if u think about it , modding a car is a never ending money pit. Regardless if its a D,B,F,H or K..... I changed cars and motor every year until i went K-swap.

i did a hondata i belive and brand new as in i bought it from a jdm used motor dealer it had around 30-40 k and the only reason i went god speed was because i am planning on getting my frends set up after he does his k swap.

I prob will go with the K swap honestly. I just love the thought of a Very mild built K20z1 or z3 in my teggy with 250. Its going to be a pain to do this but hey NO PAIN NO GAIN right. Keep me posted on this so i know how much to count for the swap I want to buy it all at once.

250 is possible out of a 20 but it's not exactly mild. the k20 type r is roughly a 200whp engine. you're going 50 up over that.

it can be relatively easy and mild to get a k to 250whp. it's done all the time with quality bolt on's and cams. that's what i'm shooting for when i throw my cams in.

yep. i'll always advocate k24's over k20's if you're thinking of a swap. but if you already have a k20 run with it.

that's my point. poster says a k20 at 250whp. you then cross it to a k24 which can get to 250whp fairly easy. a k20z1 with a couple bolt ons isn't gaining 50-60whp

very simple k20z1 setup with svm 212 cams, RBC manifold, 70mm TB, replica header and 3'' exhaust. very cookie cutter if i do say so.

where's the dyno the engine started at? since all dynos can read differently, gains over stock would be much more showing than a hp chart. is that flywheel corrected? is it really cold out? if the engine really gained 50-60hp with just those mods i would be shocked as ****

cant find a before sheet but here's one against another k20 with similar bolt on's and stock cams. sae corrected of course.



i have similar bolt on's and these same cams but not yet installed. i'll make sure to do some before runs for comparison on my setup.

I am taking my thread back. I decided to go with a mild built K20/K24 setup. I did get some unnecessary parts due to future valvetrain plans. I have everything needed to put the swap together minus simple stuff like coil pack, T/B sensors, pulleys, and trans cables. If you have these Hook me up PM me. I cant tell you how much it cost because while buying all this I also bought suspension stuff, A daily driver, and clothes, got a new place (what can I say I came back from a deployment this is what we do). So what do you think my numbers will be. And what do you think about my build. This is what I have and am in the process of installing amoung other things.

Also remember that with newer motors, the manufacturers name of the game is for efficiency , not power. You can get an lsvtec turbo setup for less than a k series and blow the doors off most k series swapped Hondas anyways

Depends if ur luck and abundance in your area. I know k-series are aboundant. But id go with b series. I bought a gsr for $1k. Beause the old lady didnt know what she was selling lol.
