Icon7 k20 DC2 Drag Car build thread

So one of our drag racers (Adam) & good buddy of mine also a talented drag racer btw. Recently decided to do a K20 swap, I have no idea who gave him that idea lol. Anyway its not done yet and probably wont finish until this winter but I thought I'd make a thread to track his progress, and for others to maybe look to for inspiration.

Before he decided to do the swap Adam was actually doing very well with his turbo B18. Lets go back to what it used to be like.

The old setup

Drag cage getting some color?

Edelbrok 3812 Throttle Body 75mm

Spool, not the turbo

Out with the old and in with the new!

Electric water pump

Mirror delete, because strait line racecar!

CF hatch

Custom intake manifold!

Turbo manifold in progress.

New front end came in!

That intake plenum looks way better behind that new front end

New

Plenum runner inlets routed

walbro 400lph

No intent to thread jack but where did you get this front bumper? and it looks like you had a 98-01 front bumper before do you think it would fit on a 96?

The front end is from Strada Industries. Fits like a dream. Will fit 94-01 integra. Heres a link to there FB page. http://www.facebook.com/strada.ind When i got the car dialed in i ran an 11.3 at 128mph with the old setup. That was at 15psi making about 390whp on e85. Head was portflow. Forged rods and pistons. Stock sleeves. Tilton twin. Was confident that I wouldve broken into the tens on that setup. Then I got the itch of the "k". Here in the northwest we only have a couple event per year that mean anything. So building the car to race street trim just got old. I decided, lets go as fast as possible, screw class restriction. So along with the k-swap, I decided to focus on cutting weight, along with improving aerodynamics. The first season the motor will be stock internals. But plan to push it to the 500 range. Anyone know what the stock block k-series record is? Thanks for the interest. This project is about to pick up some serious momentum in the next months. Stay tuned. Updates be coming! -Adam
