What Is Wrong With Your 1990-2002 Accord?
Post little miscellaneous issues with your car and hopefully someone can chime in. Little issues that dont require a thread, but still need to be fixed.
Make sure to post the year of your Accord and the engine.

97 Ex

No MIL's
My door lock switch will lock the doors, but wont unlock. The key will unlocked and lock from the outside and the manual lever on the door will lock all doors, but again wont unlock. Could it be a bad switch??
I hear a clunking noise from the front passenger area. I suspect its the sway bar end link but im not too sure, I havent checked it out.
The car is leaking oil onto the exhaust pipe but its most noticeable when I come to a complete stop, then it starts smoking as if the radiator blew. Its leaking onto the header and/or o2 sensor housing. Ive already done the valve cover gasket, now I just need to do the oil pan. Since it smokes the most at stand still, could it be the rear main seal?
ABS light is on, where is the service connector so I can jump it and retrieve the code?

98 V6, tranny shifts hard (surprise!), left rear outer door handle doesnt open the door, same door lock actuator motor is dying and barely moves. alarm goes off at random, just rebuilt whole front suspension and it knocks still.

I have a 1992 Accord 2Dr Ex auto. About a week ago at idle when I depress the brake petal weither in N or D (with P brake on) a "ticking / clicking noise is heard coming from the dash area. When I opened the hood and had my son press the brake petal the sound is coming from the silver fuel injection case that has the vaccum hose from the master brake unit going to it. The car has 158,000 on it. Any ideas?

Re: What Is Wrong With Your 1990-2002 Accord?
I just bought a 1990 accord CB7, and i bought under the impression the clutch was out, the body and interior/engine itself looks freaking awesome. When i push the clutch in to start the car it starts right up but when i push the clutch in it wont go into gear, but if i roll it itll go into gear. I just got the clutch in, had to stop cause its have to work soon but have about an hour left of work, just curious if the clutch was the problem.. The Bearing that goes onto the Fork in the transmission( The Old one) as i pulled it off the upper clip was broken, it had 2 of the clips but like i said top was gone.. could that of cause the car to not go into gear? i got the new one on though and bought some brake fluid radiator fluid and some syncromesh to get it all some new fluids, just any help would be appreciated, Thanks Dumped CB7

I have a 2000 honda accord and about a month ago my passenger window started to make this clicking sound when it got near the top. And now it doesn't go all the way up.

If you had holes, wouldnt it just sink??
-ABS light wont go away
-CEL for P0420 is on
-Passenger window isnt working; I probably didnt connect the harness when I did the speaker.

it was a bad master cylinder.... shop wanted 200 somethin to do it... went to the honda recycle and got a master for 30$ and put it in myself... pressure is back... rebleeding the brakes in the correct order tmw morning and installing a new tie rod... the recycle gave me the whole steering rack for 40$

I love it when they give you good prices!!!
The local one gives great prices but sometimes when the bitch daughter is working, shell jack up the price for everything.
Last time she charged my friend $30 for a resistor box and a DSM injector harness.

The latch on the fuel filler door is broken on mine, so if you close it all the way you usually have to prise it open while someone pulls the release lever..
Instead, I usually have to close it in but not entirely flush , or i will have serious trouble opening it the next time..
Any idea where I can get the various parts for this?
Thanks

Just bought the car last week...a couple days ago check engine light comes on...got it read and its P0420.
Hopefully I dont have to replace the cat. Any fixes or suggestions on what to do? I just have to pass emissions so that I can register the car.

Re: What Is Wrong With Your 1990-2002 Accord?
Wasup, I got a 97 CD5 EX coupe with 130k
When I drive straight theres a small "squeeky" noise coming from the front driverside wheel.
Freeway speed it goes away, but in the city I can hear it when my windows down.
Doubt it is an axle or cv joint problem being that it doesnt make that "clunk/knock" noise.
And its only when im driving straight, not while turning.
Any ideas Honda Genies?

Hey guys, As some of you may know the 97 Accord SE came with a Keyless Entry and Factory Alarm, I have a problem with my Keyless Entry, sometimes it opens and locks every time I press the button and sometimes when I press the unlock or lock button it does nothing, could it be a relay going bad?

turned out the outer tie rod was bad.... bought a steering rack from the honda recycler and took the tie rod off it and slapped it on my car...
have yet to test it because of other issues....
clutch pedal release point....
still having brake problems with the pedal going to the floor after changing master cylinder and bleeding them numerous times...
someone said i should have bench bled the master before i put it on but i didnt... looks like i just gotta keep bleeding them
