North Dakota EBP EM1 Build!!!!
I decided to make a build thread for my progress on my 2000 Civic Si. I’ve owned a few Hondas in the past and built a Boosted EH hatch and then sold it a few years ago. I missed having a car to work on so when this Si popped up for sale on a local forum, I knew I had to have it. Anyways, before I get into detail about the Si, here is a few shots of the old EH:
Alright, so the Si came up for sale and I went and bought it. It’s a beautiful EBP EM1 with only 59,000 original miles. It had a few tasteful mods done to it and came with all the stock parts. Here’s a few pics from the for sale thread:
The mod list at the time of purchase was:
VIS Racing OEM style carbon fiber hood
OEM rear lip
JDM Civic Type R thin side moldings
JDM Civic Type R Headlights
JDM Civic Type R grill
2004 Civic Si emblem in the grill
6000k Hi/Low HID's
Bronze 16" Rota wheels with Nitto NeoGen tires
Spoon N1 axle back exhaust
DC Sports 4-1 Header
Custom 2.5" exhaust w/ High Flow Catalytic Converter
Password JDM intake
Spoon reservoir socks
Spoon radiator cap
Spoon magnetic drain plug
Spoon plug wires
Mugen strut tower brace
Ground Control coilovers
Alpine head unit
Kicker 6x9's
Skunk2 shift ****
Skunk2 short throw shifter
Type R gauge bezel and shift boot
First thing I did was remove the Si emblem on the front.
Random engine shot.
Next mod was some OEM Honda Wind Deflectors and some OEM Honda Foglights. I don’t have any pics of the install for either of these, just some after shots:
Sold the carbon fiber hood and Rotas. Ordered a set of JDM Civic power folding mirrors. Wiring them in was a pain but I eventually got it. My friend that painted my old EH agreed to paint the mirrors for me. I had him repaint the front lip too, as it had a few rock chips on it.
All put together:
New wheels arrived….
Waited a few weeks and ordered a CTR 5 lug setup from Hmotorsonline. I don’t have any pics of when it first arrived. Also ordered some other goodies…
Painted the CTR calipers. I wanted it to look stockish but they may be a little too loud for me. I decided to install them anyways to see how they look on the car.
Got some new tires mounted on the ITR wheels. I went with some Yokohama S drives in 205/45/16. Got them from Vulcantire.com.
Decided this weekend (April 14-15) would be a perfect time to install the 5 lug swap. We had some real nice weather so I drove the GSX-R to go and get it out of my storage unit.
Left the GSX-R there.
And the front being assembled:
And new vs. old:
Front installed:
And the wheel on:
I didn’t take any pictures of the rear because the camera died but here’s a shot of the swap all done:
And putting it back in storage until next time…
I think the rear is lower than the front right now. Next time I take the car out I'll adjust the coilovers to get a better ride height.
Until next time...I have a Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel I need to install and the DC Header is smashed on the bottom so I'll have to fiigure that out as well.
Thanks for looking!

Re: North Dakota EBP EM1 Build!!!!
Your old hatch looked exactly like what mine would look like if i were to build one haha great work! I love the SI too 5 lug is nice! I was afraid i wasn't going to like the color of the calipers but it honestly just looks like clean new OEM to me. How do you like those EBC rotors? i was looking into getting a pair as well.
