Default Best/cheapest laptop to stream video/media through?

Hey guys,

I am trying to find a good/cheap laptop to stream movies through like HBO go or through streaming sports sites.

What's a good laptop with a HDMI out that will give both audio/video to my tv?

The cheaper the better!

I was also thinking of getting an Ipad 3.... but I heard HBO go doesn't stream through it!

Most new laptops will have HDMI output. Shit, I'd look for a netbook that has one. I'm sure they exist at this point.

Could always get an xbox to stream HBO Go and Netflix!

I do the same thing that you do, but with basketball games. I stream them with my tablet. Maybe you should look into some tablets?

Then a Zotac Zbox. Just buy some ram, a hard drive and an OS.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...k=zotac%20zbox

I believe it can even mount to the back of your flat screen. VESA Mounts.

You can pick up an OTA antennae and tuner card to record and watch tv as well as Netflix and hulu.

Pair it up with a Logitech DiNovo mini for a compact keyboard/mouse combo for ultimate control.

Raspberry Pi would be your absolute cheapest option.

Hmmm.......

Didn't know other tablets could do this.

Is it possible to hack a IPAD3 to get it to play streaming stuff?

The ipad doesn't have flash so streaming through th web browser is almost a no go. You would need an Android tablet.

I see. But can't you make flash work on an ipad by 'jailbreaking' it?

I believe you could add flash on previous firmware for the iPads. Like iOS 4.x

Not sure if it's possible with 5.0+

You can watch flash videos on iOS with the Skyfire browser. I have no idea how well it works though.
