throttle body question
Ive been having idle and power problems with my car. So i had a extra throttle body i was gonna put on. Its off my same car but in the back of the throttle body it has 3 hoses just like mine but the top hose has a plug where mine has a hose that runs to a black box and a silinoid thing by the front passenger headlight so i switched it out and plugged mine and disconnected the hose and it seems to run alot better. Im wondering what that black box amd silinoid thing is? Cause it fix alot of my problems just plugging it up. Any ideas? Or why plugging it up fixed my problems?

Re: throttle body question
Without seeing a picture I would have to take a guess that it was the intake resonator solenoid. It is for cancellign out intake noise at higher RPM. It doesn't have any effect on the physical operation of the engine. However, you may have had a vacuum leak in that hose. disconnecting it may have cleared that issue up??????

Re: throttle body question
Ill take some pics this weekend and when my car was acting up and losing power i could hear it sucking alot of air when i revved the motor. but it was losing power. The hose has a plunger thing half way and then a 3way split at the end that goes to the black box right behind the headlight and the silinoid looking thing between air filter box and the motor. The hose is bracketed onto the intake to hold it in place if that helps but ill get pics asap cause idk what i unplugged but i wont want it to mess anything up even thou its running alot better
