Icon2 D16y7 to Y8 IM Swap

So I bought a Y8 intake manifold to swap onto my Y7 hatch. I just have one question, I see these ports on the back of the Plenum and I need to know if what exactly attaches there, if I need anything there at all or just go ahead and have it blocked up since I have the manifold at a machine shop right now...any help would be great. Thanks!

Thanks but that only partially answers my question. So let me rephrase. I'm gonna swap the manifolds and keep my y7 throttle body. From what I understand if I do so, I need to block those ports, correct? Or am I wrong?

If you're just swapping manifolds yes just block off these ports.

If you would have purchased a manifold off of an automatic car those ports wouldn't have been an issue because it uses a 3 wire iac exact to yours. Good luck with your build the y7 will definitely wake up with this Mani, I've done it before.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I definitely would have bought the auto manifold but I happened to find the manual manifold for just $50 and I couldn't pass that offer up. Well I plan on doing the swap this weekend and I just got the IM back from the machine shop and it looks brand new. The machine shop was able to plug the IACV holes up for me. And thanks again, this is my last upgrade to it before I get a GTI.

I don't quite understand your question. What are you trying to accomplish?

haha...Ohhh...that was an insane night. It was like 3am and was not thinking clearly...I totally made a rookie mistake. I connected a water line to a vacuum line...and blew the motor...I had to sell the car since I needed something to drive and went German this time. I got a 08' GTi. The guy I sold the hatch to, swapped the motor for a B20 LS/Vtec then Turbo'd it. I gotta say I miss my hatch...but loving the GTi.

To say the least, I was absolutely devastated about it all though...
