Default "Did you log into Facebook from somewhere new?" email received

So I'm a tiny bit worried...

Just got an email from the Facebook Security Team (yes, it's a legit email) saying that my account was recently logged into from a computer or mobile device from a location I've never used before, and that my account has been temporarily locked.

Okay, whatever. So I log in via computer and it asks me to verify a few things. Okay whatever. Then it says that it saw access from a mobile device from Herenthout, Belgium. Woah.

I did some basic Google searching, but could only find some random phishing article from CNN back in 2009. I'm a bit worried since I generally use the same password for everything, including bank accounts.

Anyone else encounter this type of notification before?

Nope but I'll go out on a limb and say that it's time to change your password

I also use the same password for everything.

And yes, I'm in IT, and yes I know better. I just don't like password managers, and I have far too many logins to make a list or try to remember.

Change your PW, use different PW for different kind of accounts. I have 5 different PWs that i use personally and a few at work, and if you use made up words with numbers and symbols, I think it's harder to crack.

Same here. It's just such a pain to have to remember so many. Maybe I'll add a few characters and numbers to the end of what I already have.

Been doing it ever since the Internet started.

Well, it's not really the special characters that make a difference, it's the length. It's better to have a password like "computer" vs "#$n0fI".

Btw a decent password should be at least 12 alphanumerics long. It's not that hard really. Think of a mnemonic to help you remember.
