Default Ef4DR LS/V AWD setup in the making...

All of this stuff is already in my regular build thread along with all of the previous stuff with this car. I have had this sedan for something like 8 years now, I think. Lost count by now. Been through many many many different setups and this winter I got the chance to put it in a heated garage and go to town building it into the car I have always wanted.

On to the setup:

Stock sleeve 81.5mm Ls block
Eagle rods
Mahle pistons
B16 head
Omni valves/springs/retainers
Stock B16 cams
VictorX
AFI forward facing manifold
GT3076R
...

You get the idea. This setup made low 400's on 93 octane and ran a best of 11.2@128 on 24.5" m/h slicks.

Now to the new setup in the works.

When I started looking for parts I was undecided to go with all crv stuff or to do the wagon rear. Decided on the wagon rear and picked up the trans, 2 driveshafts, rear diff, and rear trailing arms.

Started the swap a few months ago with doing just the rear trailing arms for now and driving the car some more before tearing into the trans swap.

Made a jig to hold the stock civic trailing arms.

Civic trailing arm with the wagon wheel bearing setup installed.

The more I thought about it the more I wanted the rear to stay disc brakes.
So, I went with EP3 rotors and a set of RSX calipers.

Powder coated and ready to install

With the trailing arms installed and driving around for a little while, I sourced the crv trans locally with a bad 2nd gear.

After tearing into it, we found that there was a broken diff and a bent shift fork. All the trans info will come later after we are positive that the trans is going to work properly. It has an Ls main shaft, LS 1/2 gears, CRV 3rd gear, GSR 4th gear and CRV 5th...

Once it came time to park the car, I started with pulling out the dash and converting the pedal set to hydro. Mounted a clutch master cylinder reverse under the dash.

Managed to get the master cylinder in there with keeping the heating ducts.

Now to the trans swap... The crv transmission is significantly larger than the cable YS1 that was in the car and also the mounts are completely different.

Rear T bracket before modification.

With having to move the passenger side mount bracket to make room for the counter weight on the shifter cables, I decided it would be a good time to redo the body work and clean her up a good bit.

Also through in some custom fender braces while I was at it.

Reinforced the rear cross member.

Powder coated parts.

Not sure how in depth I wanna get in this thread since it is a second build thread... LOL

While the swap was out it got lots of attention to cleaning everything up. New harness with labels, fresh paint, new bolts... you get the idea.

New wheels to accomodate the new brake setup.

That's a very brief summary of the front stuff.

On to the rear:

Cut out the floor to make room for the rear diff and also a custom fuel cell under the trunk.

Waiting for a freind to get to the fuel cell for me. Should have it by the end of next week hopefully.

Wagon rear and axles:

Still on the fence about how to tie in the rear two bolt holes for the diff mounts but I have a couple ideas on how I am gonna do it.

Lol i hope you havnt picked up any bad habbits with mine lol..

I see youre using the Wagon rear diff.. I was going to change my mind and go with that, but ive decided to use my own computer and a skyline ATTESA unit to actuate the CRV clutch pack manually..

Im assuming youre using the wagon viscous coupling too?

Yessir It is the wagon rear and I am going to be using the viscous coupler. Im going to pick up some fluid for the coupler tomorrow to rebuild the one that I have before it even goes in the car.

Got the whole charge system wrapped up for the turbo. Boost leak checked!

Just came back inside from starting to get the driveshaft mounted up. Half way done. Still gotta make one more tab for a carrier bearing and finish welding the other three.

And the last section of the drive shaft is going to need to be shortened. Cut the end off of it tonight, can't do anymore to it until I get the rear end back together.

Let's do it corey!!!!

update:
Haven't really touched the car itself for a couple of days. Been busy trying to source the roller bearings to rebuild the wagon rear end. Hard as hell to find the smaller one but it is in the mail now. lol

Here's some pics of my friends progress with the fuel cell...

More pics:

Mocked up the "tacked" fuel cell for the mounting points and fill neck.

Through the years that the car has been caged I have often wanted to be able to put the back seat up in this thing...

And yesterday I finally purchased a brand new oem shifter box and set of cables with all the hardware... My wallet hurts to say the least!

And today the bearing that is needed to rebuild the wagon rear finally came in the mail. Hopefully, that will be wrapped up in the near future as well as the finished fuel cell.

Thanks man. I can't take the credit on that thing though. I just told my friend the dimension I wanted and told him to have fun. It is turning out amazing though. On the fence to anodize it clear or black to try to hide it a little. Either way it needs to be done to run e85 through it.

Didn't take too many pics today but the shifter box/cables are in the car. The rear end is rebuilt, installed, with the driveshaft shortened.

Messed around tonight with a couple different ideas on how to keep the rear sway bar. This one is probably gonna be the winner. Just flipped it and I'm gonna weld on to the subframe so that it will bolt right up!!!

Also, started putting in the fuel line tonight and dropped off the fuel cell to get anodized. For some reason I changed my mind last minute to do it black instead of clear. Trying to hide that bitch a little bit...

Im really enjoying seeing the progress on this build mate.. Its going to be rather awesome..

Can I ask one thing though? How did you shorten the prop shaft? Did you take it to a specialist and have it balanced or did you do it yourself.. ?
