I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX. The engine was changed out about 30,000 miles ago with an engine that had about 40,000 miles on it. The odomiter is at 196,000 miles. I was driving home from work on tuesday in traffic about 15 miles an hour. When the traffic broke I stepped on the gas, not to much. I heard a pop sound under the car. As soon as it poped the car started to sound like a rice burner. there was a little lose of power. I parked the car and called a tow truck. Any Ideas. Please help. Thank You

sounds like you broke something on your exhaust.

thats what I am hoping. I also noticed that the passenger side boo, the one close to the wheel is loose and not covering the bushings anymore. Could this be related. Thanks for any advice. I want to make sure its not something I can fix before I spend more money with the mechanic.

I don't know if they're related. I wouldn't think so. However you need to make sure BOTH of them get checked out or you could cause more damae and maybe even an accident if your wheel is messed up.

BTW, you probably ought to change your thread heading to add specifics. If you don't follow the forum ruls, the mods may lock the thread.

Sounds like an exhaust issue

Jack the car up put jack stands under and get underneath and inspect the exhaust where you think the "ricer" noise is coming from.
