Hey guys so i just got done replacing the rack and pinion because mine was shot. I ended up putting it together and it all worked fine...except for the b**** pin. lol. well now everything is back to normal and runs great. But my rpms are bouncing. Its been anywhere from 10-23 degrees f in the past to days when i was working on it in the garage. So is it just not warm enough?? Also when i let the car stand there the car idles good and the rpms dont bounce, when i drive it and stop at a light then the car bounces rpms again from like 1000 rpm to 2000rpm then does that about three times then idles good again. Do you guys happen to know what might be wrong??

Did you plug the PS pressure switch plug back in?

I plugged both of the ps hoses back in. I didn't disconnect the ps reservoir , just had it drained thru the hoses. I poured ps fluid back in and twisted my wheels to have it go to my rack and pinion. And then filled up the reservoir

There's an electrical connector that goes on one the lines to the pressure switch I was asking if maybe that came unplugged. Maybe you disconnected another sensor while you were working on it? Any check engine lights on?

Oh ok. Well I'll go take a look at it. And yes I do have a cel. But I've always had it because of my knock sensor. But I will go run my computer and see if there is another code coming up.

Hey I just scanned my ecu and I got the po505 code. Which is the idle air control. I've had an intake on it since I got it. But after I was some with my rack and pinion it came on.

If it set a check engine light i would check first to see if it is open or shorted. If it isnt cleaning it will be worth a shot it may just be stuck a little bit from carbon in there, they do get pretty nasty over the years. When u clean it make sure you use something that wont gum up the carbon in there. We keep BG Throttle Body and Air Intake cleaner in stock at my shop because it has a lubricant in it and really seems to free up sticking components and seems to be the only one that doesnt damage the newer throttle body vehicles and wont damage ur iacv. Hope this helps, if you need i can post a troubleshooting diagram for the 505 code off of my Alldata. Let me know>

If it wasn't doing it before then probably you possibly unplugged the connector. Make sure it's plugged in.

Hey thanks guys. But yes I did check and it was all plugged in and what not. So I decided its worth a shot to clean it out. I looked around online and found that carb and choke cleaner worked well. So I bought some and sprayed the whole 16 oz bottle on there cuz I didn't want to spend the 150-200$ for a new IACV...lol. I cleaned it out an let it dry over night, put it back in and runs like a champ now. Thanks you guys. I killed the code and it still hasn't come back on.
