I ordered my mount kit and traction bar system from John about 5 weeks ago (almost $900) and have yet to hear a reply from him via email. When I call all I hear is he is with his daughter who is sick (for 2 weeks straight). Does this sound like a legitimate excuse? I thought when owning/running a business regardless of the situation emails and phone calls need to be returned promptly.
Im not the type of person to bash a company but customer service to me is what makes a company thrive, without it business will go else where. Any insight? |

i ordered motor mounts and a traction bar from him before. I waited about 6ish weeks before hearing it was on its way.

Just received word the other day that my order is now 2 weeks behind due to the Holidays? Seriously, 9 weeks to produce a set of mounts and traction bar? WTF!?
BTW: I had to call him and my order was supposed to be delivered tomorrow! Shitty customer service. |

Happens all the time with car parts. I had a traction bar from them a few years ago on my ek. I don't think they are big company so sometimes things happen.

sounds like typical ESP. You'll get your parts eventually, but it usually takes a while. They're a 2-man shop and everything is made to order. I have always gotten same/next day email responses from them if I email them first

I ordered some Mercedes Benze bronze polyurethane sample paint from them to paint my GSR blades but haven't received it yet.
Still havent heard from DHL, either.

I'm local to these guys. I've met them irl and all. Great guys. It's a father/son company. John is the son. Very small business though. As I understand it, everything is made to order upon the order.
So yeah, it might take a little bit to weld everything up (along with other parts) and have it all powdercoated, packaged up, and sent out. I've never heard a bad thing regarding their products or the parts not showing up or anything. If there's an illness in the family I'd take that into consideration for such a small business.

really depends on the illness, if he was the only caregiver and the age of his daughter. if she has cancer than that would be acceptable and sad and i hope it never happens. if she had a flu and his wife could watch her then he should be working to complete orders he has already received money for. i have called a few times and they rarely answer. once he told me they were racing all weekdend. i know its a small company but i dont see why they cant have a few products ready to ship. there stuff is good quality and prices are decent.

I have ordered from them, usually pretty quick with email responses and it may have taken a few weeks to get the parts, but they are well worth it

OP, might want to delete this thread before ESP decides that you are giving them a bad rep online, then you'll never get your parts (you'll get your money back, but no parts) and believe me you want their parts because they are quality

Especially since custom colors and applications might be needed or wanted. Custom parts take time. It's just the way it is. They're not scamming you. He paid for his parts. Not saying they will do that for sure because I think they are good guys as well, but other companies wouldn't hesitate to pull that trigger and tell the customer to **** right off for bad mouthing them, especially on a car website as big as H/T

From what I can see OP is just upset at the lack of communication, which I would be too. I don't have a problem waiting for custom made parts but if it's taking more than a month to get them to me I'd appreciate being kept in the loop through the process.
