Parked my car, it ran fine. Now that I returned, drove a little, and noticed my lug nuts were loose on one of my wheels... out of the 4, 3 of them were tremendously loosened about a 1/4".... Anyone know why this may have happened? They were already tightened after I left the car. I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to steal blackies...

When did you tighten them last? Did you torque down the lug nuts?

They were tightened about three weeks ago, when I got a new rim. Yes i did torque them down earlier.

I hate to make you paranoid .... But, perhaps someone is intentionally loosening your wheels?

Did you torque them down while the car was sitting on the ground, or still in the air?

So can corrosion on the studs causing false torque readings on the wrench during tightening. |
