Default CEL and bogging Plus almost no oil

Went to start up the car to head out to work and it started up as normal.. hard to start than starts up fine.. but this time it starting bogging out bad and the ultimate worst fear CEL!!! Ahhhhh.. I then checked the oil and its almost freaking completely out!!!! I poured (the only reserved oil bottle left) in about almost 1 quart and the bogging seem to get better but the CEL is still active. I'm hoping for the best and already expecting the worst.. Engine failure! I'm always good on oil changing and levels..

Should I go ahead and change the oil or just add more oil and is the motor already damaged because of its indication of bogging? Can any experts on motors diagnosis this question? I just pray that its just a bad sensor setting off the CEL and I was already just on low oil.. Gulp! "Low oil=Knock Sensor=Bad Bottom Block=$=Headache?" As being a one year owner only, my car has never showed any signs of oil consumption as many other owners have stated.

INFO: Changed around Feb. 2011 and oil has less then 10,000 miles of usage

5W30 Amsoil 25,000 or up to one year of oil life

Royal Purple Filter (Had one at the time so I used it.. should of bought an Amsoil Filter)

dude ur supposed to check ur oil level as often as possible.

ur tellin me u havent checked the oil level since feb?

btw our cars take 10w30

and y do u run high millage bs run regular full synth and change every three k. r u really that lazy and trust 25k rated oil?

u prolly starved ur motor of oil and almost positive ull need a rebuild or new one

oil change would not help ur case at this time. add the proper amount of oil and c what happens if symptoms still persist im pretty sure ur motor is done

smh

And no I'm not lazy that's why I got that oil. I figured it would save money and time.

you need to check the oil at least every other week...these motors tend to eat oil

I assume you have a low oil light indicator, I know the civics have them, but when that light goes on means it is almost empty anyway, besides CEL any other light?

What was the CEL for, maybe unrelated to low oil?

How much oil did you have to put in, besides the little you had?

There is a dtc or cel "what ever you wanna call it" code for vtec system failure. P1259 is the code. What dose the car need to go into vtec...oil! I see this all the time at my dealership but one quart low isn't going to be enough to set the code.

I would would look for leaks as well, sometimes you need to get it on a lift and really check.

As for your oil change intervals, think twice, I would switch back to reg oil and change at 5k or so. Also, make a habit of checking the dip stick at least every 2 weeks to paly it safe.

After the two cel's I got which where P0302 and P1399. I swapped out the coil from cylinder 2 to cylinder 1. cleared the code.. after running the engine I got p0301 and p1399.. first thought was the cel followed the coil swap.. problem diagnosed. I then cleared that and this is when this all happened..

Got a p1410 plus all cylinder misfiring.. Cleared that.. 20 miles down the road i get a cel P0410 all cylinder misfiring.. Cleared that.. 14 miles down the road cel all cylinder misfiring and P1399. Going to swap out injecters with brand new ones and doing a valve adjustment this weekend..

Oil status- I drained out almost a full milk jug gallon of old oil with the almost full quart i poured in.. I did see some metal partials in the oil..

you said you swapped the coils, so there is a bad coil on other cylinder?

what kind of scantool are you using? if you have the ability to get your hands on a "mvci" Honda's scan tool let the car fully warm up and turn the ac off and run a high speed snap shot on your map sensor. set your voltage scale 1v to .5v and time frame dead center -30 to +30 sec and on the graph if you have more than 6 tenths or.6 variation in your voltage readings yo need to adjust your valves if you have more than 8 tenths or.8 that is when you will start to see misfires. If you don't have the ability to use a Honda scan tool This can also be done with any oscilloscope and just tag the map sensor and set your voltage scales and time frame and the same voltage variances apply. hope this helps you diagnose your misfire and not just waste money and shotgun parts at it : )

why did you change the fuel injectors, did you do a leak down test, compression test, fuel pressure test, etc?

don't just throw money on parts bro, if you need help let me know

spit on chick, then check compression with my scan tool... got it.

In all seriousness... stop driving your car until you get this problem resolved. If it is an an oil issue, you do more damage each time you drive it.

Hate to say this, but it sounds like you're not equipped to diagnose and fix this problem yourself. Know when you're in over your head and take it to a dealership and pay the diagnostic fee. You'll have at least that much trying to buy injectors which I would bet money isn't the problem.

10psiLsEf2 You might know about cars but it doesn't sound like you know much about how chicks work
