Default Hi I'm Brad, and im a new CD5 owner!!!

Hey Honda-Tech, just got myself a 94 Honda Accord EX 5 speed, was in a minor fender bender and claimed salvage, interior is complete and exterior is in decent condition minus the front end...

Got the car last Wednesday and now Monday there is a loud knock coming from the engine...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzhRH...e_gdata_player

Came with skunk 2 sleeves
eBay intake
8k hid kit
18" wheels (do not like wheels)
Brand new headlights
2 subwoofers in a custom box
Amp (don't know the watts but it's big)

Now for pics...

Bought some coilovers

And the custom sub box

Would also like to know if eBay engine rebuild kits are legit,

Also will be selling my skunk2 coilover sleeves
My sub box
Wheels

Let me know what you guys need and what the knocking is too!!!

its hard to tell. f22's are pretty cheap. your prob better off swapping in a good running motor. or upgrading to h22.

Good start bro. I got the skunk2 sleeves on my car and don't mind them!

Anyways- almost sounds like 2 separate sounds? Not sure what I am hearing. If I were you I would remove your manifold cover and feel around while the car is on to see if you have a manifold gasket leak? One sound sounded like that, while the other sounds like piston slap and or rod, but doesn't seem loud or deep enough to be that.

Does it still drive ok? Also sounds like you have some valves that need adjusting. I am not an engine tech, nor do I pride myself in "engine" info, however my car had still has a small knock around certain rpms, and this is much of the problems I read to look at first.

Can you figure out how many loud sounds you got? Because I am hearing a couple. If you got any "cool" local shops that work on honda's take it in and have them do a valve adjustment and have them check out the other sound. I got mine done for $45 bucks.

As stated above, you can get a f22 for 300-500 EASY no problem, probably cheaper if you find someone desperate. I would check out a few things first, but for the money, dropping in the same engine will fix the problem and probably be less miles for a couple hundo.

Well the squeaks could be a power steering pump? or belt? No power could be explained from the header leak if its big, your getting zero back pressure. It is hard to hear what else is wrong in the video though. Is the manifold leak the loud sound in the video ?

Check your fluids, power steering, brakes, check the belts, that might help diagnose the squeaking. If you think the only sound is the manifold, get a stock header and bolt it up.

Yeah, thats definitely something from the bottomend cause it's consistant with the engine RPM. Now, if it's half the speed of the engine RPM, it'd be something else in the head, but sounds like a rod knock.

It sounded kind of fast to me. Cold idle perhaps?

I was also hearing two-three different sounds. A light knock, but I'm fairly sure I heard a lifter or two. Not sure on Hondas, but on Saginaw PS pumps when they go bad they can sound like rod knock.

Yea that was at cold idle, took off the valve cover and no signs of damage... Going to take the head off today, hopefully it's just a bent valve so I can replace the head assembly,

Anyone has a b1 head for sale?

Yes, sounds fast which is what I mean by consistant with engine RPM as it gets higher. Yeah, all my years with Honda, none sounded like a rod knock. Usually whines like when it's low on p/s fluid.

If it was bent valve, your engine would be idling real rough; as a result, dead cyl like this Accord in the video. His doesn't knock when he's on the throttle like yours. I say you have a bottomend issue. Just drop in another F22Bx.
