How to fix leaky oil drain plug???
My stupid oil drain plug is leaking a little bit. Is there anyway to remedy this easily? Should I go get a new drain plug bolt and washer? Is there some kind of sealant that I can put on the threads or something to help seal the thing? Thanks...

yea replace the washer
if you are too lazy to do that everytime you change your oil
just get some liquid gasket.

I guess I was too lazy to get a new washer this time. I just bought this '86 civic beater and just changed the oil real quick, hehe. I'll go get a new washer, and some liquid gasket just in case...oh and more oil
Thanks.

damn some of you like buying expensive stuff for your HONDAZZZ....
goto kragen and buy a 3-pack of drain plug washers for like $0.40 cents. you can buy some carbon stuff, rubbery stuff, or copper.

helpful hint.... if you want to change your plug, but don't want to drain your oil. Take a shop vac and put the end so it just fits inside your oil fill cap. Turn her on and remove your drain plug. What's that??!?!! no oil comes out! what a good time for everyone, esp. if you are installing Spoon plugs. HTH!

I stripped mine, so ended up buying an oversize, self-tapping plug from Advanced Auto Parts. Every oil change, I wrapt the plug in a couple layers of teflon tape, and use a nylong gasket. Works perfect for me!

Has anyone ever try the Frame (sp?) quick oil change kit? The kit has some sort of valve that replaces your oil plug. Wal Mart sells this kit for about $20.

i guess i wouldnt want to trust some valve that could leak without me knowing until its too late. its not that hard to turn a wrench. just my thoughts. this reminds me of the quick-brake-bleeder thing.
