Re: JDM B16a Mods?
ill give a little insite on my build and see wat u guys think... now there are a couple reasons why im doin this.... one i have the b16a already, two i like different, and three i like the sleeperness of this being that it will be or should i say it is stamped on the block b16a but wont really be a b16a in the end.....
so the bottom end of this is the awesome part of this build well at least to me it is... it will be a b18c crank (gsr), b17a rods shot peened (arp bolts) the rods will have to be shaved down to the specs of a gsr rod, along w the 95mm stroker pistons (82mm), now im useing thoughs because the rist pin is moved up 3mm and that will give me proper clearance, just have to figure out wat kinda comp pistons to go w since it will all be really close clearance, later down the road i will be upgrading the cams and whole valve train so i want it all set up for that kinda build, now i dont have my b16 head anymore, i sold it, so i think im goin to go w the c5 head for now and upgrade it later, i would source out a b16 head but the head will be stock probably through the summer and i want some extra power this upcoming summer that the b16 just doesnt have... in the end of this it will be 1.8L well slightly more, along w some other little things (external) and hoping to get 200whp or more which im confident it will.... and actually if anyone has any input like head gasket i should use or other little things... i know well actually not yet but i might have to notch the bottom of the piston sleeves so the rods dont smack it but thats the only thing im not sure on yet till i actually get one in, it wont have to be much though its real close... i do have some qustions though like can i use a b18 oil pan, i think but not sure it is slightly bigger for more oil which i like cause i am road racing the engine and more oil will help the coolin process.... so please any chims are cool as long as its not negative... thanks i kinda feel bad to the OP for thread tapping here sorry dude maybe it will give u some ideas for ur b16a lol
