That's it in a nut shell. The trick comes when it's time to put them on again. Now how did they align on that shaft??

i believe you have to replace the entire gauge assembly within the cluster...ive never heard of removing the needles themselves...

some can be remove like the 6th genaccord and 5th gen prelude but putting it back is another problem, sometime when you put it back, the needle jerks and stuck.

what exactly do you want to do?

There are a few gold screws on the back of the cluster just remove them and the whole speedo assembly will come out

You DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE THE NEEDLE TO DO THIS!!!!!!! You will damage the speedo assembly beyond repair if you attempt to.

hahaha good luck removing the needles because is going to break! you can remove the speed needle and the tach needle but if you try remobing the temperature and gas it will snap like in a seconds!!

I believe I did a search on a 94, but they are all the same from 94-97, the only difference in the clusters is the automatic tranny lights in the middle between the tach and speedo.

Just remember to remove and install all these components you DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE NEEDLES.

i just took the speedo out using the back bolts. very very simple. i just wish i could seperate the speedo from the odometer, oh well. its not that big of a deal. i know what the difference is. now whenever i have time ill take the cluster out of my car and switch the speedos and clusters. thanks

thanks ricerrocket. youre a major help. i already took the cluster out once. the only reason im doing it again is cause the cluster i put in certain lights dont work(ex:gas, seat belt, brake) so im just going to stick the good speedo in my old cluster that everything else worked in. thanks a lot for all your help though

No problem, You know that those lights that are not working are just light bulbs that you can get from any auto parts store. You may just wanna replace those and save a few bucks from having to purchase a whole new ins. cluster.

Hey guys I know you said the needle won't come off, but i want to know is there anyway I can get the face of the gauge off without taking the needle off? My needles won't budge so I'm not gonna force them off and break them. The reason I want the gauge face is so I can remove the blue tint on the back in order for me to get different color LED lights in and not make it look blue in any way possible.
