2005 Honda Accord EX-L V6 - Cruise Control Assembly - Wrong one?
I have a 2005 Honda Accord EX-L V6 and currently my cruise control switch was broken. I would press it, the cruise control light would turn on, but when I release the switch, it would go off. Something inside the switch iteself was broken as the switch wouldn't stay engaged.
I recently ordered a Cruise Conrol Assembly to replace it, but when I pull the broken assembly out, noticed that the connections that go into the assembly are quite different. The picture below shows what I believed the assembly and wires should look like. One connector with 5 connection points that the new assembly should snap into.. however, the old one has two separate connectors, one with three connection points and the other with 4, making a total of 5 wires and two connectors. I'm not sure if I got the wrong one or if the previous owner had some work done and they replaced the switch with a different one.. I'm at a loss. Now I have NO cruise control as when disconnecting the old switch, the connectors came apart.
Would anyone happen to know (by color) where each wire is supposed to go so maybe i can just buy a like connector and place the wires myself. Also, what each of the 7 wires are for?
Any help would be appreciated as I'm pulling my hair out as I thought this would be an easy replace job.
Thanks!

You probably bought the wrong part. There are three different part numbers depending on whether you have audio remote or not, and navigation or not.
This is a part which should been ordered based on the VIN.
Without Audio Remote Honda part number: 35880-SDN-A02ZA
With Audio Remote (w/o navigation system) 35880-SDP-A01ZA
With Audio Remote (with navigation system) 35880-SDP-A11ZA

You probably bought the wrong part. Find out what model you have, and match your model to the part.

I have a 2005 Honda Accord Coupe LX-SE. The local Honda Parts outlet tells me I need 35880-SDN-A02ZA indeed. Had gotten the same wrong part as original poster, too. Guess I deserved that, ordering online before talking to Honda Parts. So, I can fix that now, but the real problem is, the two plastic plugs are solidly stuck onto the failed switch assembly. I tried to use needle nose pliers to nudge them off, but they are not budging one bit. Is there a trick to getting these off? Obviously, there is no point in buying the correct part, if I cannot get the pugs off the failed part. Thanks.
