98 Civic DX Hatch build (pic heavy)
I guess its time to start this. Bought this car last year mid September, bone stock off an old guy for a steal. With full intentions of doing a poor mans Type R and just makin a clean car.
So when winter rolled around I decided to pull the motor, but I didnt think that when I pulled the motor I was gonna get as involved as I did. I figured I wanted to build the car I wanted the way I wanted and the parts Ive always lusted over. So here it goes.
Will keep this updated frequently as the build progress' with pics!
Ive only been able to work on it one day a week for about 8 hours at a time due to working two jobs and having two kids....so I do as much as I can when I can.
Sorry for some of the crappy pics....
The day I bought it
This was just a few weeks after I bought it.....couldnt leave it stock for long:
wheels, suspension, lip, fog lights and carbon duckbill
So here is the start:
Motor out:
This is where new decisions were made and the fun begins.....This changed the whole build....
This is where I am at right now.....almost ready for paint.
Here are pictures of some of the parts I have.....will post more as pictures are taken and parts come in!
AEM Intake powder coated wet black
USDM ITR seats MINT condition....couldnt resist...
CTR carpet, didnt need but wanted
Innovative Mounts and Nardi wheel with NRG hub and quick release
T1R mid section
Mugen Twin Loop Muffler
Broadway Mirror, T bolt clamps for rad hoses, Mugen Oil cap, BWR Lug Nuts, RC310 Injectors, Skunk 2 Cam seal, Blox TPS, Master bushing kit
Energy Suspension Sway Bar Bushings, Tein hood damper, Greddy Timing Belt, Blox Intake Manifold Gasket, Civic Type R Cluster
Benen Fuel Rail, Samco Rad hoses (black), Function 7 Lower Control Arms and Sub Frame Brace Gold Finish, GoldRidge Cluth Line

nice start and nice parts so far
all except for those energy suspension polyurethane bushings, dont install them, they are junk, they dry out and will seize up and fall apart over time
sell them and buy hardened rubber bushings, mugen, hardrace, suja 1, pic, all offer bushings, hardened rubber and spherical bearing, just stay away from polyurethane

This is a better bay shot.
Here are the wheel wells and back I did last saturday
Here are some more of my parts

These parts below were all sandblasted before paint, Thanks Damian for use of the blast booth
Mounts, fresh paint
Part of front lower control arms
Front upper A arms with bushings in
Front lower control arms, bushings in
S2000 Clutch master
Chase Bays rad overflow
Blox fan
Blox Radiator
Goodridge Brake Lines
Rywire brakeline tuck kit
Integra Disc Brake Set up, dirty as hell, has been sitting in my basement for a few years!
Now onto the work that was done today....
Rear Disc, wheel studs, LCA's and Subframe brace
Exhaust Also on...
Neuspeed Rear strut brace had from my last car and custom made, B to C brace partially installed, Thanks Rick!
