95 gsr misfiring

95 gsr misfiring
I have a 95 gsr and around 2k-3k rpms it starts misfiring and then accelerates like it should. It only misfires when i actually give it almost full throttle. If i just drive it nice and slow at partial throttle i dont hear any misfire. I just recently replace wires, plugs, ignition module and fuel filter because it was doing this same thing before except it was alot worse and it would just die sometimes and sputter/misfire bad. I also have a MSD blaster coil outside the dizzy. Could it possibly be the dizzy acting up? Not sure what it could be. Any help is appreciated.

Why are you using the MSD part? The OEM ignition system is more than capable...
Take that think off and see if the problem persists...well I'd take it off permanently.
You replaced the 'ignition module'? One of the two items located in the distributor or the piece that is located under the fuse box that is next to the dead pedal in the car?
Did you double check that you put your spark plug wires on correctly, gapped the plugs correctly and seated the wires correctly?

Re: 95 gsr misfiring (Dc2 Hype R)
It sounds to me like you got the wrong plugs installed.
When you give it wide open throttle (WOT) your injecting alot of gas, and might be blowing out the spark. There is a fine balance between fuel air ratio and temperature and timing that is being controlled by the ECU. If the gap is wrong on the plug too big, you get misfires and poor performance, too small less fuel effcient but runs good. I have the 94 GSR and as the plugs wore out (gap increased) performance dropped off.
Also if you are running too cold of a plug this will change the ignite temp and mess up your timing too.
Basically make sure you got the right plugs and if you gapped them check it again. Your problem is clearly related to your recent handywork.

The plugs have been in there for at least a month before this started up. It started about 4-5 days ago. After i did the plugs i had no problem up til then. Whats the recommended plug gap for a gsr? Ill pull them and look again.
