hey honda members,
My build is almost finished and last thing to do is to wire in vtec on my ls/vtec. The car is supossedly a 95 but it has a obd2 harness so i dont know what the deal is, but the original owner did use a xencron tuning wireing harness to convert to obd1. so my question is, how to i wire vtec to my new p28 ecu when the wiring harness uses different plugs for obd2 and 1. the xencron harness fills up slot 4in my ecu so i cant just bypass this and plug directly in? any help would be apreciated, if u need pics let me know and i can have them up, i really want to get this thing running! |

I would like to know this to, but just off the top of my head. shouldent there be a open slot in the obd2 side of the harness so thats where you would plug it in and the harness its self would convert it into obd1 on the ecu?

Some jumpers come with VTEC/knock/IAB/02 as wires attached to the harness so you can connect directly. If not u can tap the obd2 or obd1 side of the harness if there is already a wire there or depin it and repin with your harness you make.

so the harness i belive does come with it and the obd1 side has a wire pluged into the vtec soleinoid spot, AND on the obd2 side there is the green/yellow wire for vtec, but there is absolutly no plug in the engine bay, so i cut into the wire and ran a wire to the vtec solenoid but still no vtec... i dont know whats the problem, the ecu was programed to not check for oil pressure before engaging vtec cause using a jdm vtec solenoid, can anyone help?

and no becuase i guess the obd2b wireing harness already has a wire for vtec, its like there used to be a vtec motor in the car and it was made into a ls, but so i just cut the wire as it came out of the obd2 side of the ecu idk where the rest of the wire is going, i think that has to be my problem, any ideas?
