That sounds like an iginition switch.

My 90 Integra, while driving, would occasionally shut off all of a sudden. After fidling with the key I relized that if you held it forwards just before the last turn to run the starter it would be fine, if you let it go, and it just sat there it would randomly shut off. The iginition switch and wire for the integra was 65 bucks from honda dealer.

My wifes 95 Accord, started to do the same thing. It wouldn't start right, it would start idle for a second then die. Once it started dying on the road, I knew it was the dam$ ignition switch. Her part from honda was 73 dollars if i recall.

Either way, symptoms sound very simliar. I would look into that, and easy way to test it is after you start it, hold the key forward for a while ( not starting it forward the one before that) it should stay running fine. Let go, then wiggle it a bit, probably will shut off. Cheap and easy diagnosis.

GL with that!

wiggling key does not help, i think however you are right i beleive it is the switch, after sitting there for 10 mins starting the car over and over it started right up and went on, there were no warning lights on when ign sw was released and the engine wouls stop instantly. will look at the switch. hope it wont be too hard to change. Thanks for the reply
