B18C1 swap into Del Sol
Hello everyone,
I have used the search, and I could not come up with any specific information for my headache of an issue.
I'm just about ready to drop the engine into the when when GASP!, I'm missing 3/4 of the bolts I need. fml.
So, my question to you fellow honda-ererrs, is the following:
I need to know the length, pitch, and grade of the following bolts so I can get them.
Goign OEM is not an option as I need them yesterday, and they are 2week min shipping.
Anyhow,
I need to know the following:
Alternator Bolts
Starter Bolts
Bell Housing Bolts
Pressure Plate Bolts
I anyone could PLEASE let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Mike

Re: B18C1 swap into Del Sol
www.hondaautomotiveparts.com. look up the sizing there.
As for threads, they're all 1.25 pitch,IIRC
Or just go to the junkyard and take what u want. Or...get them off your d series. The bell housing, pressure plate, and alternator bolts are the same. The starter bolts are probably the same also.
I wouldnt get regular hardware store bolts for any of that. They're all grade 10.9 bolts or higher, I believe.
I think ARP replacements for the pressure plate are cheaper than OEM. Plus you can use a regular 6pt socket with ARP bolts.

Re: B18C1 swap into Del Sol
Thank you for the quick reply B Serious.
Now, the engine being out of an Acura, are the Honda B Series counterparts the exact same when it comes to bolt sizes?
I called both an Acura and a Honda dealer, and they gave me different sizes (GS-R compared to CRV, I was told they were the same)
Because Integra isn't an option on that link u provided (obviously lol)
Thanks in advance

Re: B18C1 swap into Del Sol
they should all be the same except MAYBE the starter bolts. Use that site to look up D series sizing and compare it to B series. I'm 99.9% sure its all the same. U can use a 99 civic Si for the B series part of the comparison. The CR-V is probably gonna have different sizing.
www.bernardiparts.com to look up integras. Go to Acura parts. Btw, re read my 1st post...I edited it.

Re: B18C1 swap into Del Sol
Does anyone know the length of the GSR flywheel bolts??
I know they are 8mm 12 point, but I need to know the length.
Or does D series flywheel bolts work? I can find ARP flywheel bolts for a Dseries but not Bseries.
Thanks

Re: B18C1 swap into Del Sol
Ok, the pressure plate bolt is taken care of.
NOW I need to something else.
I need the little retainer clip that goes inside the shift fork.
Are the interchangeable between honda manual tranny's, or is it going to be specific to the B18C1.
Thanks guys.

Re: B18C1 swap into Del Sol
Ok I FINALLY got the bolt situation taken care of ugh.
Now, last thing I think.
On the GS-R engine, it has a couple of steel pipes in line with teh coolant.
The breather pipe and the heater by-pass pipe.
I don't need those for my application correct? I can just go straight to the car for the heater hose?
See attached, I wanna make sure I can go forth wihtout using the "brether pipe" and "heater bypass" pipe.
Thanks everyone!

Hey Mike,
Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, But I feel their is something you should know. When doing this swap you will need to get a 94-97 Honda Del Sol VTEC shift linkage.
My 95 Del Sol had this very same swap done but they didn't get the appropriate linkage and i'm now having to change it.
