Knock Sensor? civic hesitating

Knock Sensor? civic hesitating
My 96 civic EX with a 99 civic EX motor threw a CEL 23 code. Its the knock sensor, which makes sense cause I snapped it pulling the motor then soldered and epoxied it back together. I also snapped the one on my old blown motor.
Basically I had two questions I was hoping someone with more experience then me (i have very little) could answer.
My car is idling erratically at start up fluctuating between 1000 and 2000 rpm. Once its warmed up the idle drops down to about 400 rpm. Also the car bogs down and hesitates when under load between 2000 and 2500 rpm. For example when I'm going up a hill on a highway at 55mph. Are these all symptoms of a code 23 knock sensor?
Second question is about the price difference in a new knock sensor. I see them all over the internet for less then 30 bucks new. But most people are selling them for 150. Are the cheap ones a waste of time? I like buying parts at autozone cause they'll take them back. That way if it dosn't work I didn't waste money ordering it somewhere. Autozone wants 130, but I'm more out of cash then I've ever been.
Thanks for any help/opinions

Re: Knock Sensor? civic hesitating
if the ecu is getting a signal from the knock sensor it retards timing. if the knock sensor is giving a false signal and saying there is engine knock when there isn't then i don't see why it couldn't be the cause of the hesitation. also if you broke it i would replace it.
as for the prices you get what you pay for i would't trust a 30 dollar part that is 130 at autozone.
