Re: ECU change
hmm... i only ask because like... it was running real shitty, then when i changed it it got a little better... but i didnt know if the sensors were still in tune with the other ECU or what...
it's still iding around 1500, and when im driving and push the clutch in... it sounds like the cars about to die, and then catches around 1000 RPMS and shoots back up to 1500...

Re: ECU change
Who did the base map? is the car in good state of tune? (plugs, wires, timing, dist. cap and rotor)
What motor is in your car? what car are we talking about here? Need details...
Anyway, the ECU doesn't really need to "learn" in these things. It might learn some fuel trims but thats about it.

Re: ECU change
ahh.... it's a 92 civic hatch dx... with a ZC swap... Dohc, the plugs probably look like ****, and it's got MSD wires, im not to sure about the timing or the dist. cap or rotor... i dont know how to tell if it's bad or not.

Re: ECU change
Get OEM wires, NGK plugs, a new dist...and then come back to us...these should be swapped any time you do a swap anyways. OEM wires outperform almost every aftermarket to include ngk and msd wires. Good luck.

a few probs still
i thought the P06 chipped for base map p29 would fix it...
but it does seem like it's running better... but like... it's still idles around 2000/1500... and then when im driving its missing bad... and black smoke coming out when it backfires, it lacks power still when i give it a little throttle... i cleaned the IAC already.... any other suggestions to what the problem might be?
and does anyone know the firing order for the DOHC ZC?

Why'd you start another thread?

Sounds like you have mechanical issues.

Re: ECU change
Also, wouldnt hurt to check the mechanical (as in the timing the timing belt controls) and spark timing (checked with timing light)

Re: ECU change
The chip you are using is not meant for the ride which is why you are having the issues. The ecu is programmed for a certain engine and will not adjust automatically to another d-series

^ is that username for real?
Seriously...if you replace to obvious...you'll save yourself alot of troubleshooting. THEN look at the more expensive issues that MIGHT be a problem later. You NEED to replace plugs dist...probably water pump timing belt etc anyways...and should replace wires...so go with that then figure it out from there.
