Turbo size for DD with frequent highway?
Hey guys I have a 90 Integra LS with a B18A1 that I'm planning on boosting to about 200whp for a fun DD. I will be driving on the highway alot at 3k rpm so I would like a turbo that doesnt start making boost until then. Im thinking a T25 should do the trick but it might spool up too fast. I will be using 2.5" charge piping, intercooler, test pipe, and a straight through muffler. Any suggestions on the turbo size?

I have never heard of a turbo spooling "too fast". But a t25 should get you to 200 whp. I would just get a 57 trim from somewhere, that way i could go a little bigger if I ever decided to.

Or get a stock Sti turbo. They can usually be had for cheap...heck even a stock wrx turbo would make 200. Mine made 250 on e85.

These are good options but keep in mind finding the right manifold for a T25, WRX or EVO turbo can be hard. Maybe find a manifold first, then match it with a turbo... Just a thought

Bah, you can cut off a flange and weld on what you want. Considering you could get some of these turbos dirt cheap and they are good quality turbos that will last forever (we had a customer with 160k miles on his OEM Sti turbo), buying a flange and getting it welded on a manifold should be able to be done by just about any fab shop worth their salt for a reasonable price.

add up the costs first
you can get a jdm itr engine for $2500, that's 175whp and being done NA,
if you can piece together a small turbo kit and tune it for cheap enough it's a great idea. if your goal is really only 200whp or there abouts i would be really tempted to stick NA. just for the cost if nothing else
