Xenon bulb replacement Help
Hey everyone,
I have an 00 ex civic coupe with an aftermarket tenon H.I.D kit which was already on the car when I bought it. One of my bulbs blew out recently. My friend had some spare xenon bulbs, which he had given to me. Before I picked them up I assumed it was just a bulb swap, but to my surprise I didnt know the bulbs had wires permanently attached to them. I took my xenon bulb out which had 3 wires with plugs on the end attached, my friends bulb had 5 wires attached. I plugged in his bulb by attaching 2 of my hid wires in his and they powered on no problem; however there's no place on his bulb to plug in the 3rd wire(small black & white wire with small plug) and im wondering what its for? I also dont know what his other two wires are for. Wanted to know if its safe to use his bulb being that it powers on with just the two wires plugged in, neglecting the black & white wire in which theres no place to plug it in on his bulb?

Re: Xenon bulb replacement Help
So i take it your HID kit is bi-xenon?
Is so then the extra wire is for DRL correct me if im wrong. It allows bulb to light up very dim just enough to see it in the dark. When you turn your lights on HID kicks in and then when you flip your high beams the bulb switches to high beam

I did notice my bulb is a High/Low bulb, but I never was able to switch to high beam, when I tried to switch it on prior when it was working.

Re: Xenon bulb replacement Help
The first picture is a picture of the three wires coming from my car which include the black & white wire. The 2nd picture are the three wires from my original bulb which plug into all three wires from my car, the last pic is of my friends bulb wires in which his bulb did turn on when I plugged in the 2 wires from my car, but theres no where to plug the black and white wire from my car into it, and also two of his plugs are left hanging.

Nah, the high beam never worked. Im wondering if the new bulb will operate safely, with just those two wires plugged in.
