im not a fortune teller but if those plates and dowels are all thats holding the motor and trans together i see a big FAIL in your future..is that a valve or a rod ticking??

Re: H2B EF (NO KIT) PERFECT HOOD CLEARENCE
there are actually 5 bolts bolted from tranny to block... tranny is held very strong. we have never ever had any problems with any of our cars. we have an h2b car already making well over 260whp and have not have any tranny issues..
im actually using a b series tranny t bracket and b series hasport mounts
its a camp 1320 header

i still dont know why you guys do this. There is a reason for a kit. also did you notice if it cracked paint or your block is actually cracked where the s/n is on the block?

I have the QSD kit and am very happy with my purchase. These people however seem to have made it work adequately without a plate, and to me a major bonus is the extra space towards the framerail. thumbs up.

People always get mad when other people don't do it "right."
It works without a kit, as long as everything is lined up properly, there is nothing to worry about.

Only reason I didnt do a H2b swap was because of hood clearance.Take some good detailed pics please you got me thinking about ditching my T2t4 tranny purchase and doing H2b.

Not a bad way to save 780 dollars. Ive been looking at a way to use an old scatter shield to mount the tranny to the block.

That's pretty cool how you braced the transmission on the high side near the block. I would use some thicker material though, it looks a little thin. It would be neat to see better pictures of this area.
Someone else mentioned a rod/valve tick but I didn't hear anything.
What ECU are you running?

I know the 2 top bolts get those brackets
The bottom trans bolt in the front you drill the H block and get a long *** screw with a nut, so that's 3 bolts.
Then I think you drill the back of the block and feed a long starter bolt through it with a nut. The rest is just like swapping a b series. Except you keep the H post and use a H style mount to fit into your eg/Ek/ef
I've never done it just guessing on how everything lines up

Re: H2B EF (NO KIT) PERFECT HOOD CLEARENCE
the motor alone is sitting at the regular position as if you were doing a normal H-swap in a non-H chassis using a swap mount. Thus, results in flush hood fitment.
with the tranny lined up to the engine's clutch. the center line for the input shaft to meet the crankshaft is achieved.
from there you probably orient the tranny to sit in the normal B-series position and mount it with regular B-series tranny mount.
then you have to get creative with some sort of fastener to hold the tranny and engine together. drill holes and use long bolts and nuts.
I'm guessing you can use the (2) bolts on the rear tranny T-bracket because they bolt to the transmission but idk about the top one.
anyone have any thoughts?
