Is there aftermarket VTEC oil switch replacement for Civic 2001 EX,

That doesn't help me understand what you're trying to "unscrew". There are three bolts that have to be removed to get the solenoid off... which I guess could be "unscrewed" to be removed, but other then that I'm lost.

There are no direct aftermarket replacements available that I'm aware of. OE Honda only, unless you have the knowledge and ability to make something universal work.
He's trying to remove the VTEC oil pressure switch from the VTEC spool valve assembly.

$247.00 Is that really what to expect to pay? Wow! So I got error code P1259 was low of oil. Valve gasket leak so i fixed it. Changed out PVC valve and still sputters at lights with check engine light on. So guess this is next?
Also changed oil and filter.

Have you inspected the VTEC assembly, specifically the screen?
Might try some of the things in this thread: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-2001-2005-78/2002-civic-ex-v-tec-problem-please-help-asap-2758006/
And they're only $152.47 + shipping from Majestic Honda. (for the entire VTEC assembly.)

I had the P1259 error code which signals either oil pressure switch, or the solenoid, or low oil or bad oil filter. Replacing all assuming your motor has oil costs about 350 at a good independent shop and whatever at a dealer.
Doing some diligence for months with the code coming off and on led me and my after market shop to the following conclusion.
My P1259 usually occurred right after start up but often would go off after some miles.
My mechanic wanted to replace the spool valve which is everything until I informed him of when the CEL went on and off.
He correctly assessed it was probably the Oil Pressure Switch.
We replaced it and presto NO MORE CEL's......
He charged 170 for the job
Doing it myself left me in mystery. I am good mechanically but what I saw was hmm let's get a pro.
