Default My DC2 Time attack show build

This is my 97 Acura Integra. It was my daily driver for three years. Then I lent it to one of my customers for a day, and he threw a rod threw the block. I had a new project car from there. This is the story from the ground up. The chassis is in good shape to start with. It just needed an over haul. I'm a little more then half way through now but still have more to do. This will be my street class time attack FF car. It will still be clean enough to take to a car show.

This is where im at now but, lets go back to the beginning.

After I did the engine. I stripped the engine bay of all the old nasty parts and the stock USDM front. Then I started shaving the bay and put the JDM core support on.

Here it is after primer and almost ready for paint.

nothing like fresh paint after all that work.

Now on to the body work. I shaved the door trim and fixed all the dents.

After the the chassis was painted its time for test fitting.

Under body coating time. Not that I will ever drive it in the rain but it's better then having to paint the bottom of the car. I got all the old stuff off that was bad and started to tap it up. It's nice having a paint shop next store. They have all the good stuff.

I start by dropping the subframe.

My girl taking the photo sitting down. She is such a hard worker. LOL.

Time to rebuild the rack and put new inner and outer tie rods.

Time to tap it up and start putting the new under body coating on.

So fresh and so clean, clean and here is the subframe and rack. It's all ready to go back in.
It is still going to have power steering but will be electric MR2 pump. I will go over that later.

Now we move on to the rest of the body paint. Here is my boy laying some fresh Lexus polar white.

setting up the rear

The body is done. Now we move on to the exhaust, brake lines and suspension.

On to the exhaust and suspension. The exhaust is a 3 inch Skunk 2 mega power exhaust that I got from my boy for 100 bucks, sweet. I went and polished it up, and put new bolts with new gaskets. Now. it's like new. It gets an exhaust wrapped to keep the heat in. I got all new bushings for it from Honda.

We now move on to the suspension. I got some omni power coilovers for a temporary fix until I have the money for a set of AP racing coilovers. The LCA and rear camber kit are Bloxs. The sway bar is just a type R that has been repainted black.
Then, I replaced all the bushings in the car for Hard Race bushings.

All new brakes and ARP studs.

All new stainless steel brake lines and Willwood brake master with adj PP valve. The PP valve is mounted in the center counsel.

The inside gets the bride low max treatment with a custom leather roof liner, A pillars and sun visors.
The carpet was changed for new black Honda carpet. I still have to shave the trunk area and have it painted blue. The Auto power cage will be painted white like the car.

Time attack and show shouldn't be in the same sentence, just saying. I like the paint combo, will the new motor set up be turbo?

If your going to do a rebuild I would do the studs. because there the same price as stock studs and there stronger.

I have my own tuner shop, and I don't get much time to work on my own cars. However, I always wanted a JDM type R Integra. This was a cheap project to do, and fun for me to play around with. I have been working on it for a year now when I get the time to. I work on 700hp to 1000hp rotary's most of the time, however, I grew up with Honda's. This will be something to have fun with on the weekends. All because its show worthy, doesn't mean it's not fast around a track.
As far as the taillights go, I'm putting 99 spec tails with a full red tint on them.

This is my other ride. It makes 625hp at 18psi 2100 pounds, and I road race it.

Yes its a turbo build but, all because it looks good doesn't mean it's not fast around a track.
