91 EF Hatch - "Correct" Cable to Hydro Conversion
Okay, before you guys flame away, I am aware of the kits that Hasport and Innovative make. They are as follows:
Hasport: @ a smooth $249+shipping
Innovative: again, @ a smooth $249+shipping
Innovative also makes the "B-Series Cable to Hydraulic Actuator" but I am almost 100% it would not bolt up correctly to a D-series hydro tranny:
I feel that if I find out the correct pedal, clutch master, and hardlines to use, I could save some money here and the system would be better than the use of an actuator or core support mounted clutch master.
Now that is out of the way, I have also searched the FAQ for this section and only came across the Auto -> 5spd conversion thread listed in there and it really didnt answer my question.
So here is what I am looking for:
If one were to be doing a hydro z6 swap in their 91 EF Hatch, and wanted to do the cable -> hydro conversion "correctly", which hydro clutch pedal, clutch master cylinder, and clutch master to slave hardlines that fit the EF chassis would they need to make the conversion work?
There may not be a hydro clutch pedal from another chassis that fits 100%, but what have guys used, may have had to modify bolt holes a bit, in the EF chassis to make the cable -> hydro conversion "correct"?
If there is a thread for this that I have missed, I apologize in advance for that. If it was over looked, please post the link so I can take a look at it. If you have some insight on this topic, please post what you have. I would love to hear it.
I thank you guys in advance and I hope I can get this done to return post some useful info for people in the future.

I mean really, do you not feel as if you went to the junk yard you could get a pedal, clutch master, and hardline(s) for less than $250? I really feel I can!

Re: 91 EF Hatch - "Correct" Cable to Hydro Conversion
Innovative makes an actuator for d-series hydro trans. You'd have to call to see if they will sell it separate from the mount kit.
Link here: http://www.innovativemounts.com/Prod...ductCode=49151
Do a search for Suja1. I don't want to assume you are aware of the kits they sell that bolt to your existing pedal assembly. If you want to go the full hydro route the Suja1 kit could work. You'd need a master cylinder from a 92-95 civic and the slave cylinder would be for a d-series hydro trans.
I attempted this set-up for my b-series, but I had an original Suja1 kit that didn't line up the master cylinder correctly. Two broken clutch pedals later I ditched it. I still have my softline that's roughly 9ft long that I'll sell you That's all you'd need from the m/c to the slave. I believe it's -4an.

I just came across this "Suja1" over on ClubCivic.com while searching Google for "clutch pedal swap in 91 EF".
I am going to do some researching and digging on this guy!

I mean there are cable trannies avail that I would be willing to use i.e. EF Civic Si cable tranny or CRX Si cable tranny. I feel they will be a hassle to find them though....

Just called Innovative. You must have to know a "parties extension" to talk with someone other wise you have to leave a message for them to call you back. Humm....doesnt seem like they want my business to me. Scratch that.

if you search. there was someone here using a dc2 brake and clutch pedal assembly. had the clutch reservoir mounted on the fire wall next to the resistor box. don't know how far he got in doing the saw though.

Dude, if you are interested in going this route, give Jason a call over at Suja1Motorsports (630) 407-0711. He is a top notch guy and is really there to help you.
He said the price of his kit I posted above was $160 shipped to your door. You can use any OEM style Honda/Acura clutch master cylinder then used the corresponding slave cylinder for which ever tranny set up you are using.
He said he just installed one yesterday in a CRX and it took him 1.5-2hrs to do it. Said the best way is removal of the dash to give you plenty of room to work with everything.
I feel that when my swap comes in, I am giving Jason a call and placing an order with him for the kit

Yes, removing the dash is best. First time make take you a while, but after you do it once, it's very easy. Like I said, I have a softline and even a BRAND NEW mastercylinder for sale that was mounted up, but I never drove the car and went back to cable.

Re: 91 EF Hatch - "Correct" Cable to Hydro Conversion
I always wondering how an EF felt with a hydro tranny. but using a conversion kit, while still maintaining the cable? Does it feel like a hydro tranny? Or still like a cable?
I am also in the process of converting to hydro with my z6 in my 91 si

JustOneOrTwoPosts, your link in your pm was VERY helpful. Here is what he sent me:
AZHT.net - Hush H22 Hydro Conversion
Shows an install of a cable to hydro pedal conversion like I posted from Suja1. This time, the pedal bracket/swap is being made by Collective Racing in Tucson, AZ. I am not aware of the price yet as I have not called them (believe its only 8:36am in AZ). In one of those post in the link I put up, they say they sell a complete kit with pedal bracket, master, slave, braided line w/ all fittings, brembo reservoir. I will give them a shout and keep you guys updated!

Re: 91 EF Hatch - "Correct" Cable to Hydro Conversion
No, I ended up selling the z6 hydro tranny and picked up a CRX Si tranny. Conversion kits do not allow for the correct adjustments and pedal kits seem to be a PITA. If I were going to go with one though, I would call and talk with Suja1. Super nice guy and he can talk you through the install over the phone!

Re: 91 EF Hatch - "Correct" Cable to Hydro Conversion
i just put the suja kit on my car..the only thing u have to weld is 2 small washers onto the hook that holds your old clutch cable.
i have not driven my car yet but it was easy to install..removal/welding/install prob took all of 3 hours max.....i didnt pull my dash either...but my dash is gutted so i dont know if anything with a full dash will get in the way.

Re: 91 EF Hatch - "Correct" Cable to Hydro Conversion
The idea behind bolt in kits is to make your life easier. Not everyone is a fabricator or is limited to tools etc..
Scott Byars owner of Collective Racing/Autoworx is a dear and close friend of mine and has them available for purchase as well as myself.
Which ever kit or way you choose I'm sure your swap will come out great!
If you have any questions please feel free to pm, email or call 520 234 3383
