Mild before stainless
I'm just wondering who all here makes manifolds outta mild before they venture off and make a jig for the stainless?

Re: Mild before stainless
I have never made a manifold of mild steel before. I do not have anything against mild, and would rock one myself, but I just haven't had any requests for any yet.

You can just use the stainless pieces for mockup... Then just break it apart to make changes. Honestly the material cost isnt even worth the effort of making a manifold twice.

Re: Mild before stainless
In fact, IIRC mild is more expensive at mcmaster. (not sure about elsewhere, I think it was because the mild was USA made and the stainless was chinese.)

Re: Mild before stainless
you can get some good prices on stainless at gfi stainless in modesto ca, and to comment on another post, you might not have to build a jig if you know how to push your heat...
