2007 Honda Accord won't start properly...

I've had my 2007 Accord for just under 2 months, I bought it used and was given the impression it was in fine working order, only to have it start crapping out on me after a few days.

The car runs fine and hasn't given me any real problems aside from this starting issue. What happens is I put the key in and turn it, then have to hold it down while the car seems to be trying to kick-start itself. There's a clicking sound and the dash stays dark while the arms of the meters light up, then the dash lights flicker on and the car starts up, though it seems to be "coughing" if that makes sense.

I don't know how else to describe it. I know almost nothing about cars. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

If you turn the key 2 times all the dash lights should turn on (CEL, ABS, etc etc) if they dont maybe your battery is going and causing your start up problem?

get the battery check out? sounds like a weak battery.

My problem is similar, except that my 2007 Accord 4 Dr 4 cyl. doesn't start anymore. I bought it 5 days ago, it ran fine till now. This is what I observed last-

I sat in my car and switched on the heater while the key was in position (1). Then I tried turning on the car and I believe I heard something trip. I switched off all lights and tried starting again but its squeals while attempting to start - the speedometer section turns dark while this is happening. I then switched the car into position (1) and switched on the headlights etc. they work. Not sure what is wrong?
It has 70K mile on it.
