I started having this problem a couple days ago. Sometimes it starts sometimes it wont. I noticed when it does not start i notice i dont hear the fuel pump prime or the the relay click. My question is there a way i can check which one it is. The CEL is a weird situation too. Sometimes when it does not start the cel goes off like normally (still no prime or click from fuel relay and pump) sometimes it stays on still no prime or click from relay or pump. I tried the paper clip trick when the cel stays on and i cant get it to work. i used to do the paper clip all the time no problem. dont know why it isnt working now. help please thanks

Most likely a faulty main relay. Read this related thread:

You can verify that the fuel pump is fine by jumping the main relay or wiring it to the battery.

Sorry. But how would I jump the relay. Never done it before. I have an idea but not sure. Also is ok if i drive it like that for a little bit.

Jump the main relay connector as described in the diagram. If the fuel pump runs continuously when the key is turned to ON(II), then the fuel pump is fine. You cannot drive the car like this. It's just a way to test the fuel pump.
