Hallo,

i have a Tial38mm external Wastegate with the smalles spring (3.6psi) and an electronic boost controller. I've now experienced a slightly slower spoolup and i guess it's due to the small WG spring which is pressed open from the exhaust pressure slightly which slows the spoolup.

I want to run the smalle WG spring for several reasons, so switchung to a bigger one is not an option.

Has anyone experimented with preloading of small WG springs in tial wastegates?

the valve seat sets the preload when it's installed and bolted down.
compressing the spring for more will raise the base boost
