94 civic vx with 95 ls swap eratic idling problem
Hey guys i have this hatch that i swapped earlier this year and since the first start after the swap ive had this problem with an erratic idle.
It idles around 500rpm but bounces around from 700 to 300 rpms.
also unsure if related when i took my car to get pretested for smog it came out that the car was running very lean.
ok so heres what ive done to try to fix the issue
changed the o2 sensor to fix the lean condition, it didnt.
sea foamed it to possibly clean out the head thinking that was causing the lean condition, didnt fix it.
all the while i was testing sensors to see if that was causing my erratic idle.
tested the tps that was good
checked evap system thinking i was getting a lean miss from the stuck open evap canister that came back fine.
inspected the distributor and that looked fine but the key that goes into the cam is somewhat loose and makes a tick sound for the first few minutes of the car being on.
when i caused a vacuum leak the idle actually stabilized out a bit and that just shows the cars running lean.
checked for vacuum leaks by opening propane and brake clean on the known leak points and still found nothing.
and considering that this engine really doesnt have very many sensor to check im stumped
i know i sound like a newb and this might have been covered but i have failed to find anything out.
any help will be accepted, and please if your not going to help please keep your comments to yourself if i wanted to get blasted for asking questions id go find a mechanic at the shop to do it.
thanks

Try cleaning out your IACV and FITV. It fixed my shitty roaming idle and hesitation problem.
As for your lean condition, I dont know.

Did you convert to a 4 wire for the system. I have seen the VX harness doesnt like anything haha. Usually boucing idle is fro the IACV or in my case...from that stupid crome program...
