Default prelude calipers on EG

i have the option to get a set of prelude front brakes for my EG civic.

currently the civic has on Integra GSR front suspension. (i.e knuckles , hub, etc)

I would like to kno if the prelude caliper would bolt to the gsr components?
If it wouldnt what needs to be done to get it to work? caliper mount needs to grinded and or redrilled?
Would the disc bolt onto the hub ?

Would it be worth the swap? and can 15" wheels fit over them?

the caliper you'll need is known as the 17CL15VN front caliper.
the 17CL15VN is one of the biggest single piston calipers honda produces.
you can easily identify this caliper from the stamp.

this caliper can also be found on:
97-01 ITR,
97-99 CL V6,
91-95 legend,
96-98 rl,
95-98 tl,
92-94 vigor,
95-02 accord v6,
91-97 accord wagon,
97-01 crv,
95-01 odyssey,
92-96 prelude vtec
& 97-01 prelude

currently the civic has on Integra GSR front suspension. (i.e knuckles , hub, etc)

94-00 integra (except ITR) front knuckles are all the same regardless if it from a LS, RS, GS OR GSR

yes, the 17CL15VN calipers will fit your integra knuckles.

once you obtain the calipers, you'll need to seperate the caliper bracket.

the bracket is stamped either 23T, 25T or 28T.

the bracket will need to be milled 2-3mm (or 1/8").
* (the machined brackets will also accept NSX & 94-95 legend 2-pot front calipers)

https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes-54/itr-23t-bracket-milling-question-dc2-application-2738136/

once you get the bracket machined, you'll need rotors.
you have 2 options:
a. re-drill prelude VTEC 11" rotors to 4X100
b. www.fastbrakes.com 11" rotors in 4X100.

pads can be found in any of the honda/acura models listed above.

since you'll need more fluid to push the bigger pistons, it's a good idea to upgrade your master cylinder.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/easiest-brake-master-cylinder-upgrade-yet-1992-1995-civics-364783/

you can keep the booster on your 92-95 civic EG & upgrade to 15/16" from a 90-91 civic EX.

honda oem part # 46100-SH4-A11.

bolts right up, no bending or reflaring of the brake lines.

use caution when dealing with the m/c & use a flared wrench to avoid stripping it.

Would it be worth the swap?

imo yes, this is the ITR front brake system w/o the cost of swapping to 5-lug

and can 15" wheels fit over them?

yes, oem honda 15" wheels fit over the brake upgrade

I know it's an old thread, but that was a beautiful reply. All of HT should be so lucky to see threads replied to in such a manner.

PROPS!

Can this set up work for stock eg knuckles? I have EBC rotors and pads with steel brake lines but I want to upgrade from these small 9 inch rotors to something bigger. Can I add accord calipers or gsr calipers with EX civic rotors from a 96-00? I heard that's the biggest I could go with stock knuckles

ROASTBEEF...I've read alot of write-ups on bigger caliper\brake upgrades and alot of them just confuse me...Oh and before i continue, your ANSWER\QUESTION session above looks AWESOME. So back to what i was saying, i've got a 92 Prelude S and i want to upgrade to bigger said brake set-up. I have a both 23t brackets and caliper from a 99 CL but dont know if i need to change out my preluded spindle, if so, to which?? and The ROTOR i should be using that would be the easiest to drill to the correct specs pattern. Its my first time doing this on my lude and could use a BIT OF SOME TEACHING!! Thx in advance alot.
