Honda Accord Euro Tourer 2002
Hi There i just joined this forum so hello to all i have been offered a Honda Accord Euro Tourer 2002 SW Ivtec 2.4 L it's a very nice car an ex company car with a fairly high milage 203,000km the car drives great and has been serviced by the honda dealer i know these cars have a timing chain not a belt so i have been told that there is no need to replace it is this true ?

G'Day Adrian,
Couple of things, even though your car fits into the year catagory correctly..... your car should in theory be a 2003. Timing chains generally dont need replacement until they get noisy - which is generally long after the car has rusted in peace!
Where abouts are you from??

Couple of things, even though your car fits into the year catagory correctly..... your car should in theory be a 2003. Timing chains generally dont need replacement until they get noisy - which is generally long after the car has rusted in peace!

thanks for the info by the way i like your car 
i'm from NZ i live in auckland how about the milage is it ok at 200.000 + Km would there be anything that i would need to do to it ? here is another question for you i have a Honda integra 1997 SIR G DC2 1800 cc Vtec this car came factory with the LSD diff and short shif gearbox it also has a funny **** in the middle console when you turn it it makes the vtec kick in faster it looks like it's a factory item i was told that it was an option for this car in japan do you know anythin about it? i have pulled the console off and it's got a factory wire loom going to it i will be putting this car for sale on trademe soon but i,m not sure how to explain about this **** thing Cheers

Looks like a buddyclub vtec controller, wont be a factory fitted item, they do a damn good job at making them look factory though. I used to have a DC2 as well, traded it on the Euro R.
I will send you a PM shortly, 200,000km's isn't high mileage for a Honda engine really. Many USA Accords see well over 300k Miles with very little going wrong, not too sure on the K24's reliability as I'm only familiar with B, D & H series engines.
My EG Civic had well over 290,000km's on the D15B engine, and would still be going today if the mechanic hadn't cross threaded the crank pulley bolt causing a serious vibration leading to bottom end failure.

You will notice the backing of that switch doesn't match the centre consol 100% which is due to is being designed for the dashboard in an EG Civic, most likely will also find it has an adaptor harness at the ECU which leads to it making it all look factory fitted.
