Greddy 18G on Fully built B16!
Since this economy sucks i cant sell my external wastegate greddy 18g turbo set up for the price i want to go bigger (gt35, 44mm wg, etc.) , ive been thinking about putting it on my new b16 84mm sleeved, rod, piston, ramhorn manifold, skunk2 port matched intake manifold, 70mm TB, precision 600hp intercooler, full aftermarket valve train motor. I put a t3 to t25 adapter on the turbo to mount it to a t3 ramhorn and put a atp-turbo GT28r v-band 3" exhaust flange on the turbo, and welded the wg flapper shut for 38mm tial wg, so ive got some money in the turbo. All i would have to do is sell my RC 550cc injectors and get some ID 1000's and get a new tune, which sounds real nice on my pocket right now since theres a possibility i could lose my job in july. I made 350hp and 252tq on a stock b16 with the Greddy 18g external wg ramhorn manifold set up at 15-16 psi. I would like some input on what some of you think? Am i crazy lol? Also what you think the new set up might make and any input you might have?
Heres the set up

yea im not trying to compare my set up with anything else, i know what kind of power i can get at a lower psi with a better turbo but im trying to see what this turbo is actually capable of...yea 28psi did not sound right to me but 23-24psi sounds more like it...thanks for the info LightningTeg...when i sell my injectors and get my id 1000's ill post my dyno results and everyone can see what the greddy 18g can really do

Myself and a few other dsm guys have spiked 16gs and 18gs to 35psi for that extra amount of tq. But it would quickly fall to 29psi and hold, you have to want to let the turbo run out of it ranage to make the bigger numbers. It's all in tuning at that point, look on the dsm forums for these qeustions your asking. Stock 14b powered dams have gone high 11s!

Just wondering how's the spool and how is the power with that turbo, I was considering using a 18g or evoiii 16g. Not a evo8 because that's twin scroll, I want fast spool but don't need to pay 1400 for a 400hp turbo.

Dang, this is what I should have done to my setup years ago. I was happy with the greddy kit, but wanted more out of, but didn't have the funds at the time. Awesome conversion on the setup. I'm in for results too.

Super nice setup, Have a stock b18B with a Evo 16g and made 359hp, 296tq on Q16 race gas, at 26psi...lol. We were trying to max out the turbo, but ran out of injector. You should be able to see 20 plus psi on a 18g with no problem.
