It's not techincal per se but it's a legit question...

I had a 99 Si with a very similar build (just different brands) and I sold it a few years ago for about $7,500. It had about 5k miles on the B18c-R poor-man-R and about 75k on a mint shell.

List it as 7k firm/obo depending on how badly you need to sell.

is it just me, or would you guys pay more for a stock civic? i mean, if they're some minimal cosmetic or intake/headers/exhaust upgrade I would consider that to be stock.


unless, it's got type-r mods that were done RIGHT. i'd pay top dollar for that, but at the same time, buying a car with a bunch of mods takes a lot of fun and pride out of it. just my 2 cents

If I understand your question correctly - hell no, are you serious? Also, you MUST assume it's well built (otherwise why even consider it (that's why receipts are important when selling a car)).

The thing is, engines that are built/reconstructed don't add much to the car because the price of the car has mostly to do with the shell (the mods come secondary).

If his Si was near stock and just as well maintained it could bring in $6000, let's just say. I know he spent more than a grand on just the internals alone so what if he wanted $8500obo for it... people would just flame him for trying to get back what he spent on a fresh motor that has over 100k miles of life left.

And you're saying you would spend MORE for something closer to stock? Pay WHAT IT COSTS

or you could strip some parts off, replace them with stock parts, and sell the car and afterarket parts SEPERATELY!!

People have to be crazy to modified there car and then take a loss for someone else to buy it and enjoy it, I will never sell my 2000 SI on boost for $7000.00 That is why I'm not ever selling it. Why should the seller take the loss for someone else to gain the seller hard work and money put into a well built car.

For the Operator: Sell your car for what you think it worth, If no buyer just hold on to it there is always a buyer for your car, its just a matter of time before you sell it, But you will get a buyer.
