hmmm yes dicey, sounds like my first hairpin attempt "so dicet"... only time I ever got the car to oversteer--
I did find out that the D3 double x brace takes alot of understeer away from the car- it doesnt stick as much in the turn-- it makes it feel more nuetral torwards exiting the turn-
looks like Imma be taking the speedy way home from work today! lol
Hmm I wish I had hibernation for my hatchy soon hopefully-

ahhh I see- Maybe it is just the driver but when i have it on- Ive noticed that the steering wheel is a lot looser-
exiting a turn the steering wheel goes with-
without it on- you have to crank the steering wheel to exit out of the turn-
just what I noticed- who knows-
I have a deep garage with the 7thgen sitting quietly waiting for funds to become something snow worthy- no funds no car-- shucks...

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
So in light of the fact that I need to remove the canisters from my EVO's in order to switch the front top hats, Ive been stacking knowledge on the inner workings of the remote reservoir shock design, as well as how to dis-assemble, service, bleed and recharge the shock. Big thanks to John at AST suspension on giving me some valuable information
Custom tool designs are in the works for assembly/dis-assembly, new high quality shock fluid on order, and picking up the spare set of Todd's top hats from the machine shop tomorrow after getting some modifications done. Front reservoir clamps should also be arriving this week.
This thread is going to be getting seriously technical in the next couple weeks

Dude...with the amount of detail you throw around...that's gonna be like scary NASA technical. Had you been on the Apollo 13 mission many years ago...that flight would have made it to Mars and back.

Hey guys, been breaking my *** to get this strut bar done and here it is finally in all it's glory
In the process of tacking one of the triangulated gussets
.
.
.
.
After all said and done I gave it a coat of titanium shade paint
.
.
Next up are the modded top hats I mentioned. I was having slipping issues with the set currently on my car doe to the smooth hard anodized surfaces of the 2 plates. I ended up using loctite between the plates after resetting them and its been holding, but I only saw it as a temporary fix.To avoid extra down time with the car Im using the extra set of top hats from our DC5 to be textured.
After consulting with my machinist at Ambur Machine in Northbridge Mass (basically across the street from my house ) we came up with a texture design to prevent the plates from slipping.
Both halves are textured in a way that the patterns mirror eachother and lock together perfectly. The increments between each "notch" are probably .05*. at the wheel. Now even while just holding the plates together in my hands, I cannot get them to jump teeth as hard as I try!
.
.
I also dis-assembled one of the front struts in order to take measurements for top hat shoulder bushings as well as custom spanner tools to take apart the shock cartridge for bleeding and re-assembly.

The texturing on the todds plates looks awesome. I haven't had any slipping issues on the latest set of plates but I haven't tracked the car yet so I won't really know till then. Were yours slipping from everyday driving?

I was getting slipping from hitting large dips in the street where the spring would really load up, and the plate would slip to full negative. (theyre set almost at full positive normally). The wheel would end up with like 4.5* camber and about an inch toe-in

Nice job on the brace, looks beefy as heck and solid as rock
Now you had me mindblown again with your solution to the slipping plates. When I saw that I was like . Insane man lol.
Whats even crazier is rebleeding brand new shocks, I take my hat off for this dude!

I actually just did all the drawings for them tonight for both mine and yours. Hopefully get them all back and ship yours next wednesday!
I cant wait till I have my spanner tools done and i can take apart the shocks and canisters to see what the internals look like in these things! Im hoping the seals and valve stacks are a standard size and orientation so I can use easily available rebuild parts down the road

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
So since I'm leaving for the track today I did a marathon run yesterday morning and dropped off material and drawings for shoulder bushings for my top hats as well as bushings for Matt's (mattrt09) EVO top hats that he bought from me for his N+. Also having them turn down some dowels for my custom spanner wrenches.
Then swung by the water jet cutter and dropped off material for the spanners. Hoping to pick all this stuff up next Wednesday when I get back, right before I leave for the track again thursday. Ahhh!!!
