Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
I would recommend RSD or mono Flex. Both come with decent rates for street tires, are rebuildable, and have good quality monotube dampers. Ride height is adjustable independently etc etc. You really cannot go wrong. Both also have teflon coated shock bodies which will prevent rusting in the winter months.
Your buddy may need more camber in the rear, like 2-2.5 to clear with those wheels/tires. At my height I needed 3.2 to clear a 17x8 +35 with a 235 Re11 (Evo wheels that I test fitted)

Well i thought you had decided against V2 because they couldnt get you stiff enough rates? I would use RSD over V2. RSD had separate height adjustment, inverted struts, and corrected steering arms, with arguably the same quality internals. Plus, they are about $400 less.

Oh, couldnt tell you clearance wise. Check the fitment thread on ephatch...

Sounds great! Looking like i found my Suspension setup this spring. BTW RSX vs EP3 RSD? Difference? Heard RSX is the way to go cause you can upgrade tierods? any other tips if you do recommend rsx rsd over ep3 rsd?

I hear mixed things about those and the n+'s, if you look around there are some horror stories that a few have experienced with them. Regardless of that if I found a low mileage set of RSD's i'd snag them, but when it comes to buying new AMR has my interest right now, you pick your spring rates and they have a lifetime warranty for whatever that is worth...

Yeah, youre right about the tie rods. But you cant use the TypeS rear shocks on EP3 suspension, the bottom bushings are wider. You can put together a custom TypeS front/EP3 rear damper set from Buddy Club USA. Shoot me a message if you decide to put in an order

Been busy lately!
Got the AC line welded up, here it is with the argon back purge so the weld is smooth on the inside of the tube
.
.
Welded up and installed. Perfect fit!
.
.
Also got the front shocks apart to install the new top hats, and machined the upper threaded mounts down to clear the shock towers

E, are you going to paint the lower shock bodies? I see some surface rust on them. Would be a good time to freshen them up.

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
I found a used pair of Ohlins Suspension at a local JDM shop. Looks to be in good condition and owner of JDM gives it a 60 day warrenty when I called to check up on them. I remember my friend recommending Ohlins back in the day but researching it, I found the new price to be out of my reach. Now these pop up and I can't seem to resist? (I would also note these are for DC5 - I'm guessing just a change of something in the rear suspension to make these fit?)

If the price is right, and you can have them rebuilt then go for it. If they arent rebuildable, or the rebuild cost is crazy expensive I would pass. I dont know much about them, other than I know ohlins makes great stuff. As far as the DC5 fitment, you will need TypeS tie rod ends and to shave down the rear lower shock bushings to fit the EP3 arms.

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Pretty excited about this update! Getting so much done on the car it feels good! My rear shocks are done at AST and should be here late this week. I was getting some leaking from one of the rears so I sent both in and they inspected and repaired them free of charge.
So since I just installed the SHG Rocker Cover, I wanted to re loom the top side engine harness so I could ditch the plastic guide that would have chafed the new paint. I decided to experiment with a motorsports style loom. I heatshrunk the harness, and used glue lined shrink to seal up all the joints. Im loving how it came out, Ill be doing my A2 harness and the DC5 harness like this too with a few more features
.
.
Then I was able to press in the new Buddy Club P1 ball joints. Im really liking the design of these. They have huge lower control arm correction, but moderate roll center correction. This keeps the front roll center low while also getting the arms horizontal.
Here is my old Hardrace part on the left vs the Buddy Club part which moves the joint 10mm down (roll center) vs the Hardrace's 15mm. Overall length of the P1 is 7mm longer giving more LCA correction.

Took 3 days but I went through every page. Awesome build, pretty much everything I dig about the honda scene. When I find other like minded people it gives me hope. Great stuff all the way through. I plan on starting one for my dc5 on here sometime soon. I started one on NWP but purpose built cars or daily drivers don't seem to get much love on there. Thanks for the inspiration.
