I dunno, I just switched to it after reading the stuff by Dr. Haas on Ferrari Chat about engine oil viscosity - basically how no oil, not even 0w, is thin enough to provide proper lubrication when cold. But at least the 0w is thinner than 10 or 5w so it's a little better than the others at getting the lubrication where it's needed, when it's most critical, which is when the engine is started after sitting for several hours.
I've been using the 0w-30 for about 3 years now, but before that I used 5w-30 Valvoline MaxLife for nearly 200,000 miles. I just pulled my cylinder head off the car for the first time ever, with 329,000 miles on the engine, to replace the head gasket, and the condition of the head and internals looked truly amazing for having that many miles on it. I did get it freshened up, though, with a milled head surface, complete head and valve cleaning, and all new valve seals.

Ive seen multiple 300k+ engines that are spotless inside that have been running syn for most their lives VS 30k motors on conventional that already have tarnish building up
Its so much fun dude! Cant wait for Jersey this fall! I really want to include an event at Infineon when I drive cross country next year

Evan,
Are you using regular POR-15 (the rust inhibitor) or the POR15 Hardnose for your undercoating area + suspension parts?
Also it seems that you are shooting it out of a gun instead of brushing it on, any tips for that?
Thanks man!

Nice! I'm guessing you're attending Eibach aswell? In that case, hopefully you and the crew can meet up with me at the summer IA meet in 2015!

I did my chassis with a brush, took 3 coats to cover. I did my bumper supports with a gun and it didnt come out as good. I also didnt have a regulator for the gun at the time so it might have been the high air pressure that caused the paint to aerate a bit.
Yup! If possible Id like to make it to both eibach then head north to infineon. Hopefully there is a track day there that coincides with the meet

Yet more cleeeaaan photos thanks to my buddy Jalal!
We had a get together this past weekend for mine and Joe's birthdays, detailed cars etc then rolled out to cars and coffee Sunday morning. J was kind enough to get some fantastic shots of the car for me before we left and en route

Man I love those wheels on the car, but the only thing I don't like is you can't see enough of the 6-pot calipers between the fat spokes.
Super hawt as always

A little something to throw up for you guys...
Just been dailying the car and enjoying it, havent been working on it much since Ive been putting in time repairing my CRV. I did however put some heat barrier tape on the rear lip since it got melted a little during the track day. I chose silver this time to keep it a little more low key

.
And I got this snap when I found myself in the industrial district of east providence while running errands saturday

weight wut? Dang the length of those calipers would have made me swear there were 6-piston. But I forgot what they looked like in the pics way back when you showed them with the wheels off.

You should have a little rally driver name decal made for the rear 1/4 window, would suit the overall feel.
Looks awesome though, the Tarmacs make it feel very.... British? Dunno, lol but it's good.
