Hey guys! Some big news... Im now the proud new owner of a Nighthawk Black Pearl 2001 CRV! Its a 5spd AWD, 100% rust free, clean chassis, and mint interior. The exterior has some dings and scratches but that was the least of my worries when I was looking for one.
I picked it up as a winter car and something to use for moving stuff and long trips or for times and places Id rather not take my Civic. I already started on the detailing, first the interior, then going to buff and wax the exterior one panel at a time as I get the opportunity. There is wax in all the crevices so Ill most likely take out the door handles to get rid of the residue and possibly hit them with SEM trim paint!
I also just put an order through for a set of weathertech floor mats in preparation for the winter months ahead
Ill Get some photos up next week, were leaving for the Austin Grand Prix tomorrow night as wont be getting back till next week, so until then!

Nice find on the CRV. I love that Honda made them in 5-speeds. Super jealous that you're going to the Austin Grand Prix. Have fun and take lots of pics!

That's pretty much the only Honda that Diamond Racing wheels look like they belong on, and only with tires like that.
That's actually really sick. Would love to haul my bikes around in a 5-sp AWD 1st gen CRV

Thanks guys! I'm so excited about the car... Stevie that one you posted is dope! I doubt ill mo this one though, more just want to clean it up and make it all oem with some nice subtle touches.
I keep finding cool little things about the car... I love the fold down/reclining rear seats, rear passenger cup holders, storage compartments everywhere, and just found its got an alpine 6cd changer mounted to a pull out tray under the passenger seat.

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Since theres not much to post about the Civic right now Ill share whats new with the CR-V! Ive yet to take any decent pictures of the car but I have been working on it quite a bit... Sorry in advance for some of the photos I documented the project with my iPhone.
The first and one of the ONLY things I didnt like about the car was the seating position. Its way too high for my taste to I took a peek under at the rails and saw they could be modified to lower the seating position.
After work one night last week I decided to tackle the project as well as a couple others...
Here is the seat with the rails removed:
.
.
Here are the mounting tabs, you can see how theyre raised off the rail...
.
.
I cut and modified the tabs with filler pieces and extensions made from 1/8" steel then welded them back to the rails retaining the same position and measurements I recorded from the factory setup.
.
.
While coats of primer and paint were drying on the rails I worked on installing these bad boys: Honda Access pedal covers
.
.
While under the dash I noticed there was alot of crud around the edges and under the dead pedal and plastic trims, so I popped them off to take care of business. I vaccumed and scrubbed the areas with carpet cleaner to bring them back to minty fresh
.
.
I also pulled the parking brake since there looked to be something brown and sticky spilled inside. Got it all cleaned up, re-greased the lever and vaccumed and scrubbed the surrounding carpet.
.
.
Here is the driver side floor all cleaned up ready for the seat to go back in!
.
.
And the rails bolted back to the seat, after thoroughly cleaning everything of course
.
.
And the seat installed... All the plastic end caps for the rails were trimmed and re-installed, as well as the covers for the rear mounts. Gotta keep it oem In the first picture you can see how the rails now sit flush against the mounting rib exactly 1.25" lower than before.
.
.
Thats all for now stay tuned for more

No just the driver, way too much work to do both... Ill still take out the pass seat and wire wheel/paint the rail mounts since theyre rusty on both seats. Cean the carpet etc just like I did the driver side but I wont mod them.

Good idea, otherwise I was gonna say you'd probably have to print up a bunch of "liability" waivers for your passengers to sign.
Great work as usual.
